It was the middle of the night when Estelle and Annora awoke to the smell of burning chemicals stinging their noses. As their eyes opened, the sight of purple gas swarmed around them. A rush of fear coursed through their bodies, but before they could scream, their world turned fuzzy, and evidently passed out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two of them woke up, tied up in a small room that looked to be in a cabin. The walls were made out of large logs and clay had seemed to be what was used to clog the empty space between each layer. Estelle was the first to wake up and immediate panic caused her to try and get out of the ropes that tied her and Annora to the dirty  wall. She couldn't speak, for her and her sister's mouths also had a thick piece of cloth that acted as a gag to prevent them from making any noises that may cause commotion. Without control, tears dampened the girl's face as each drop made its way down her cheeks, some curving onto her nose, while the others were absorbed into the cloth.
After a few minutes of constant struggle, Annora woke up in shock and jolted her head back and forth, taking in her situation. The two of them had a terrified gleam in their eyes as they desperately tried to escape, but it was useless. They constantly struggled to free themselves from the ties and knots that contained them for hours, but were unsuccessful.
The two came to a sudden halt when they heard the door from another room burst open.
Their heartbeats seemed to grow faster,  their hearts felt as if they were trying to punch themselves out of the flesh and chest that held them close, and their minds played a thousand scenarios as the slow, heavy footsteps came closer.
Annora and Estelle hushed themselves and stayed silent, listening closely to every snippet of sound they could hear. A tall, bulky man burst the door open and Estelle and Annora gasped. They tried to talk, scream, and yell, but couldn't do anything.
They felt weak.
The man put a blindfold on the two, but with struggle, as they tried everything they could think of to move and shake out of the way. The man then picked them up, still having their hands and feet tied, and carried them one at a time to his horse. It was there that he put the sisters into a little wooden box that the beautiful animal pulled. The two girls struggled to escape, but once again, it was no use. With nothing but darkness surrounding them, the feeling of rough wood created a new layer of fear and confusion.
After about 20 minutes, their minds never ceasing to play tricks on them, they heard other horses from the distance getting closer...
~~~~~~~~~~
Annora and Estelle looked at eachother, horrified at what was coming, until they heard familiar voices. "Get off of your horse and open your...box." Sebastian demanded the unclean man.

"Yes, yes, of course." The man said, and slowly walked to his box, subtly putting his hand in his pocket on his way. In a split second, he pulled out a sword, one of which had been secretly stored in his pants, not visible from the outside, but Kian moved quickly, drawing his sword and jolting forward, stabbing the man in the chest. The sharp blade of Kian's sword cut through the captor's heart, exiting through his back. Pulling his weapon out, the open wound caused blood to rush out like water escaping a hose. The man toppled over, painting the forest floor red.

Kian scoffed at what lay before him. "Disgusting trash."

After Sebastian calmed the horse, he opened the box to then see Estelle and Annora shaking. He leaned down and softly took off their blindfolds. The two looked terrified, but relieved.

"You don't know how hard it was to find you guys." Kian said coldly, but somewhat relieved, picking up Annora. Sebastian picked up Estelle, helping cut her ropes. Kian cut through the ropes that bound Annora's wrists together before handing her his dagger.

"Cut your legs free." He spoke shortly, walking away.

"What just happened-?" Annora asked and Estelle agreed with the question.

"What does it look like? We need to keep a 24-7 watch over you two now." Kian said, hopping onto his horse.

"That doesn't explain why we were kidnapped!" Estelle said angrily to Kian.

"We don't know exactly, but we know it wasn't in good heart." Sebastian said worryingly as he turned his horse around. Annora and Estelle had so many questions, but before they could think of what to say, Kian and Sebastian hoisted the two onto their horses. They both thought to themselves as they placed their arms around the brother's chests.

Annora and Estelle listened to the horses' hooves on the trail, watching it's muscles move and mane glide with the wind to entertain them on the long ride back, but they had so many unanswered questions. Of course, Kian and Sebastian were no help, for they ignored the girls as much as they could.

Around halfway back to Torriden, the brothers stopped their horses and held up their hands, signaling for the girls to be silent. They listened carefully to their surroundings, hearing the wind, or a bird fly by, and out of nowhere, a group of three people in flowing cloth started sprinting towards them from the bushes. The brothers drew their swords and prepared to fight, but in a matter of seconds all three of the people in cloth got shot with arrows and fell to the ground, dead.

The group of four looked around them, to the sides, and then up, but all they saw were a rustle of branches. Confused and thankful, they called out to whatever had saved them, but alas, they were gone.

For the rest of the way back, the group talked about what had happened, but Sebastion and Kian frequently hushed the sisters and stayed quiet, almost as though they thought something would try to attack them again.

Approaching the towering gates of Torriden, guards nodded to the brothers and princesses as they opened the gates and let them in. Many of the villagers looked at them concerned or confused when they saw how Annora and Estelle looked. The two looked down, for they didn't want the town to see them like this. They had messy hair, dirty clothes, scratches, faces covered in dust, and overall not looking like themselves. Roselle, Vivian, and Curtis were all standing by the huge front doors of the castle. When the four of them approached and got off their horses, Roselle and Vivian teared up, while Curtis looked at his sons with a look of disappointment.

The princesses and their parents held a long, warm hug before they were swarmed with questions about what happened. Both Vivian and Roselle had a terrified look in their eyes, eagerly awaiting an explanation. As the sisters were telling them about what happened, Curtis and the boys walked away, disappearing into the castle whilst talking quietly.
