Worlds Worst Hangover

You awaken the next morning with your head splitting in half. You grab your forehead and groan.
The light streaming in through your bay window honestly just kind of pisses you off. Not okay.
You stumble up and over to the window, which in turn causes your stomach to lurch forward. Forgetting about the curtains you make a beeline for the bathroom and wretch up last nights party.

You're sitting on the floor with vomit on the corner of your mouth with your head leaning against the tub when you hear a soft but swift knock on the door.

" hey uh.. I'm gonna .." You hear Chelsea's strangled mumbles from behind the door.

"Come in hurry" you reply, speaking made you cringe. Note to self, brush teeth.

She stumbles in, lands on her knees almost instantly and wretches into the toilet.

Luckily you had time to flush it.

You hold her hair and rub her back in small circles. Seems like she has a way worse hangover than you. You feel a bit better having gotten the alcohol out.

Once she's done she sits up with tears in her eyes. You reach over to flush the toilet and stand on shaky legs to get her a washcloth to wipe her mouth with.

She takes it gratefully and forces a chuckle.

"Just like old times huh?" Her voice and throat are raspy. She sounds like an old man.

"Old times? It's not like I've been away for that long. "

"It felt like forever when I was missing you, though."

Your heart hurts. Genuinely for the life you could be living back home. With your friends. Hell even some of your family. Your grandparents lived there too. And your uncle mike. Everything here is still so new and not knowing anyone. Royally sucks. You like it here, but can you really live here? Can you be able to make a new life here? Only time would tell.

You sigh,"I know. I've missed you too"

She sits up against the tub while you sit down on the toilet lid. This used to be a pretty common occurrence. You both would get hammered. You'd throw your guts up then sit in the bathroom for an hour talking about the night before. Only this time its a much more sensitive topic.

"This is hard" she begins to say but the emotions get the better of her and she begins to cry. Making your heart break just a little more.

"I miss you so much, you have no idea. It hadn't been that long but going from seeing and talking to you everyday to only texting sometimes? It's not right and it's not us." She pauses to take a deep breath before continuing. "Shit I can't even walk over to your house anymore because it's not you there. It's like a part of me left when you did. Everything is so dull over there. Even Daisey and I kind of stopped talking. I feel like I'm losing my girls."

You take her hand in yours.

"Hey you could never lose me. We may be worlds apart but that will never change the fact that you're my best friend. You always will be."

She gives you a sad, but small smile.

"You're my best friend" she says.

"And you're mine"

She sniffles and does a little shake.

"Well now that we have that out of our system, whatcha wanna do today?" She asks.

You frankly don't feel like doing much of anything today with the hangover and all. But you appreciate the change of topic.

"I'd be happy just slumming it around here for the day, Netflix and pillow fort?" You ask, already knowing her answer.

"Fuck yes that sounds amazing" she sighs happily.

You smile and offer her your hand so she can stand up, she takes it gratefully. When the two of you manage to make it to your bedroom you immediately begin looking for a bunch of blankets and pillows to make a fort with. Lucky for you, you can never have too many comfort items and find what you need in no time. The hangover slows you down but it doesn't stop you. When the fort is made you pop a couple Tylenol for the headache and settle down to find some movies. Chelsea had gone and made popcorn and is just now coming back.

"I could get used to your kitchen. Looks like it could be in a magazine" Chelsea notes.

Sighing you nod, "it is pretty but its not my style"

She scoffs "okay little miss minimalist no one likes a party pooper!"

You glance at your window and smile while shaking your head.

"I agreed it was pretty what more do you want?"

She giggles. "I dunno" she says while plopping down next to you. "So what are we watching?"

She is the queen at changing the subject.

"Well what are you in the mood for?"

She looks at you with a guilty smirk on her lips.

"Twilight....?" She shuts her eyes tight and a grimace graces her face. She obviously expects you to yell at her. You only shake your head and smile. Its always the twilight series. Even if it is cringe to watch now.

"You always want to watch twilight! Why am I not even surprised"

"Hey can you blame me look at Edward! The mans a hawtie"

"You did not just...." Sighs,"You did not just call him a hawtie and disgrace Jacob like that"

Oh here we go.

Its always a running joke between the two of you because you both like the different guys. Team Jacob  guys sorry!

"Your man just turns into a giant dog, My man sparkles"

"I'm just going to forget you just said that and play the damn movies... come on snuggle in"

She smiles and does what shes told. Laying her head against your arm with a leg draped over your legs.

Whoever said best friend cuddles can't be a thing?
