That dinner with Jimin is tonight. You told yourself all night that you weren't going to go. You wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing you show up there. He ignored you so you decide you're going to ignore him. Show him that if he wants something that he has to actually make an attempt himself to talk to you. He can't just ignore you whenever he feels like it and you be at his beck and call whenever.
But then, he does call you. You're sitting in bed and the buzzing of your phone has your eyes locked to the screen that reads :Incoming call, Jimin. You want to leave it alone, to not answer and just ignore the buzzing. But when he calls a second time, then a third, you pick it up in frustration.
"Hello?" You ask your tone clipped.
"You sure know how to pick up a phone" he replies, a smile sounding in the young males voice.
"And you know how to text a girl back?" You retaliate with a frown. Your anger growing but you suppress it.
You hear him release a breath before he replies.
"I was busy"
You laugh humorlessly.
"As was I, so I'm going to let you go" you pull the phone away from your ear but hear him say something.
"Wait please!" He says, sounding a tad bit rushed to get the words out.
You decide to at least give him a listen before hurting his ego and hanging up.
"What is it Jimin?"
"I just wanted to ask if you'd go with me to dinner? I already told the boys they would finally get to meet you"
You snort and roll your eyes at him knowing he can't see you.
"You ignored me all day and night, then text me randomly offering dinner and expect me to go?"
"W... Well yeah I was hoping..."
You sigh and squeeze the bridge of your nose.
Why must this boy make things so difficult?
"Jimin you can't just expect me to drop everything I was doing, I may not be busy tonight. So. I will go"
You hear him breathe out a long breath and go to say something but you cut him off. "But you can't just ignore me when you don't feel like talking and show up when you do. If you want things to work as friends you need to put the effort in"
"Okay. I'm sorry. So you'll go?"
He's hopeful that you'll say yes but afraid of you saying no. Jimin it would seem really wants you to go. The boys wouldn't let him live it down if he came dateless.
"Yeah I'll go. Where at and what time?"
"I'll text you the details. Gotta go. See you soon"
He hangs up the phone and you're left sitting in bed. Waiting for a text from Jimin. The time drags on and for a few fleeting moments you think he isn't going to text you. The doubts start to creep in and you're left wondering if he even really wants you to go tonight.
An hour passes and you're laying in bed with a sad heart. Still no text. All of it must have just been a game to him. You're frustrated with yourself for even believing he had some sort of feelings for you. You're just a toy for him to come to when he wants to play. An hour turns to two which turn to three. But then you get a text and it turns out to be him.
He apologizes for taking so long at an answer and gives you the address of the restaurant.
Guess you are going tonight after all.
