Today is the day that you've been dreading since the beginning of the week. Your stomach lurches as you make your way up to the airport, your heart drops and you can't help but want to cry.

It was just the two of you, your parents couldn't come to see her off so you drove. The night before was bittersweet. Helping Chelsea pack all of her bags was a hard pill for you to swallow. You're going to be alone now. You aren't sure if you've made a friend out of Jimin yet or not so it really is just you now.

You pull up into parking and sit for a moment with your hands in your lap, playing with your finger and looking down. You really aren't ready for her to go but she's already missed time in school. Her parents also, want her to come home.

"Hey" Chelsea says, "It's okay. We'll skype and call all the time and text. You'll always be there no matter what okay?"

You sigh heavily, letting out a breath you didn't know you were holding.

"I know its just... I don't want to be alone" you admit. She looks at you with sympathy in her eyes.

"Well maybe we can make it a habit for me to visit? I know its a far ways but you remember I wanted to get a job soon. I can save up"

You smile, knowing that if you let her that job would be solely to pay for the trips to see you. But that's selfish of you to even consider wanting her to.

"Maybe" you reply heavily. Your dreading walking up to those doors, and even more so walking out of them. But if you don't go now she'll miss her flight.

"It's that time isn't it?" She asks, her voice small. She too sounds sad.

"Yeah unfortunately it is. Come lets get your bags and get in there"

She sighs as she's opening the door but doesn't object. You half expected her to try.

You walk up together. Both of you feeling like crying your eyes out as you take agonizingly slow steps toward the gate. Chelsea turns around to face you and pulls you to her in a hug. You sit like that for a few moments before she pulls away.

"I guess this is is huh?" She asks. Already she has tears beginning to leak from her eyes.

"I guess so"

"I love you" she breathes and hugs you again before stepping away.

"I love you more" you choke out. Trying hard to keep the tears at bay.

"Have a safe flight. Call me when you make it home"

She smiles at you and nods. "You know I will"

After one last bear hug she turns and walks away. You stand and watch her back as it gets further and further away. Taking a little piece of your heart with her.

finally getting your legs to dislodge themselves you make your way out of the airport and to your car where you finally let the tears flow. Being hundreds of miles away from your best friend is probably one of the hardest things you've had to go through. You'll miss her, even when you talk. Your phone chimes as you put your car in reverse. Stopping you check to see who it was.

Chelsea: Don't cry too hard, get home safe 😘❤

You can't help but smile through the tears. It's scary how much that girl knows you.

Once you get back into town you decide to stop at a café for a much needed coffee and some breakfast. Benefits of Chelsea's flight being early in the morning. You're quite tired. Hopefully the coffee can do you some good.
