"Happy birthday babygirl!" Your mothers loud voice sounds beside your head, you however don't really care about it being your birthday. You wished that it wasn't. To you it's just another ordinary day. A celebration of your mother bringing you into a world that you never asked nor wanted to be in? Yeah. No thanks.
You grumble incoherent words and roll over, throwing your plush blanket up and over your head to hide your entire body from view. Once snuggled back down in your nest you sigh in contempt.
Though your peace is shortlived. Your mothers small hands come into view and she pulls your blanket off of you in an attempt to get you up. News for her. It won't work. Scrunching your eyes closed you ignore her pleas for you to get out of bed and will yourself to fall back into a deep slumber.
"Hunny it's your birthday! You gotta get up c'mon I made you breakfast"
Your ears perk up at the sound of her saying "breakfast" but your body still doesn't want to comply with your mind. Or stomach.
"Let me sleep" you mumble through a facefull of pillow.
"No come on now"
Your throat releases a low growl and you roll over to look at her with squinted eyes.
"Why must you hate me?"
She smiles at you and laughs softly while patting your leg. You shuffle over and she sits down beside you.
"I don't hate you. We have a busy day planned today! And we're already running behind schedule"
You purse your lips and give her 'the look' that can only be described as the bish really? Look and glare at her.
"It's my birthday and you have a schedule? Can't we just sit and like watch movies? Why do we have to do anything?"
She sighs softly as her eyes scan your face. She notices the dark bags under them, the missing twinkle in your otherwise bright blue eyes. Hopefully the surprise waiting for you downstairs will help return them, she had hopes of making this your best birthday yet, after all, they did drag you across the world and she knows how hard change is for you. She'll be damned if you spend your entire birthday in bed.
"Come on hunny, we'll have fun. You'll love what your father and I have planned"
You grunt in dissatisfaction.
"You mean he helped you plan something?"
"Of course he did its your big day! Don't be like that. I know you think your father doesn't love you or doesn't care but he does. Very much. His work just takes up a lot of his time. If not for him we wouldn't have this big nice house now would we? He's trying his best" she sighs and looks out your window, "Plus he took the day off to be with us today"
A big nice house that I didn't even want. In a country I don't even want to be in.
"Okay."
You sigh heavily and roll over, uncovering yourself with your safety blanket and pushing yourself into a sitting position.
"Okay?" She says with a big smile on her glossy lips.
You half smile back, and nod your head reluctantly.
She throws her arms around you and squeezes you so tightly you feel your eyes bulging out of your head. Once she releases you from the bone crushing hug you breathe in deeply to get the air back that she otherwise stole from you.
"I love you! Okay I'll be downstairs hurry up and get dressed! We have got to get this party started!"
You chuckle as she bolts up from your bed like a child and runs out of the room. You can hear her slippers slapping at the hardwood of the stairs on her way down. Once its safe you get up and throw on some dark skinny jeans paired with a red sweater, brush out the ghastly tangles in your hair and brush your stinky breath away. If it were up to you, you would lay in bed all day. But you know that your mom wouldn't allow you to. She'd drag you out of bed by your hair and you'd rather not have to deal with a headache all day.
