Comfort [ Aesop x Sick(?)Reader ] (sorta valentines special?)

The female layed on the silk sheets wrapping her arms around her small figure. Her eyes darted around the room as she sniffled feeling uneasy. She frowned feeling herself get light-headed as an uncertain amount of blood rushed to her head.

She let out a shakey sigh before picking up the blanket that layed next to her and wrapped it around herself.
She stood up from her bed and made her way to her door - opening it.
She shivered from the coldness of the golden door nob.
She shut the door behind herself carefully not to make any sound and walked along the creaky floorboards, she made her way down the staircase and into the kitchen.
She reached into the cabinet above the sink and pulled out a glass, she brought it down to the tap and turned it on watching the water fill the cup.
She switched the tap off and took a sip before making her way back upstairs.

She noticed a window with a small seating area to the left of her and she took a seat. She slightly moved the curtains so she could see outside.

Her E/C eyes glimmered against the moon and stars that were displayed on the night sky. She smiled watching the rain drip down the window.
She held her hand up to the glass shivering at the coldness, "If only you were still here.." She mumbled jumping at the sudden sound of a voice.

"If who was still here, Y/N?" Said a soft voice, she looked to her right seeing the one and only Embalmer.
"Aesop? Why are you awake?" The Embalmer chuckled, "I could ask you the same thing."

She sniffled, "I have insomnia, I can't sleep because of it. My pills won't work either." She layed her head on one of her knees as she brought them up to her chest, "What about you?" The Embalmer sighed, "I've got insomnia too, makes it almost impossible for me to sleep every night. I usually come out here for a glass of water to help it but, tonight it's not working."

She hummed in response - looking back out the window. She smiled at the comfortable silence before sighing and speaking.
"To answer your question from before, I wish my brother was still here. He used to comfort me every night and would usually lay with me until I would fall asleep. It helped a lot with my insomnia, ever since he left.. My insomnia got so much worse.."

"My mom couldn't comfort me, my sister's were too young to understand and my dad.. Well.. I never saw him after my brother passed. He left my mom in debt, I came here for the money so I could help my mom with things. She'd work two jobs and I'd work one.. I was too young and too dumb to understand what was going on, I get it now though.." Hot tears slipped from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks, The Embalmer stayed silent for a bit before replying.

"I'm.. sorry to hear that.." She gave a sad smile, "I-It's okay.." She shivered from the sudden coldness and wrapped the blanket around her tighter. Aesop frowned at her state as she sniffled,
"Do you wanna sleep with me to help..?" She choked on her saliva, Aesop's eyes widened as his face turned red,
"N-Not like that!" She softly giggled and gave a small smile, "Sure, why not?" She stood up from her seat looking back at the window once more before following Aesop to his room. The floorboards creaked under them as they walked until they reached the Embalmer's room.

He twisted the golden-doornob and opened the door with a creak, he let her in first and she thanked him.
The Embalmer awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck, "Sorry for the mess.." She gave a small smile, "That's alright!" She crawled onto the bed laying down on the surprisingly soft mattress. She threw the silk covers over herself feeling the bed slightly dip as Aesop slipped in next to her.
It was silent for a bit until Aesop spoke, "D-Do you mind if I..?" He put one of his hands on her hips, "N-Not at all!" The Embalmer slipped his arm around around her waist pulling her closer to him, he embraced her warmth smelling the sweet cinnamon scent she gave off.

A small smile formed on his face as he felt himself slowly drift into un-conciousness.

This turned into a daily thing, whenever one or the other couldn't sleep, they'd sleep in each other's beds embracing their warmth and eventually falling asleep in each other's arms. This lead to the two becoming closer friends, which also lead to people becoming suspicious of them and their actions.
Whenever one was asked to do something, they'd always invite the other to do it with them.
A few examples are cooking, doing the dishes, doing laundry ect.

Whenever one was being talked to the other would join in the conversation or would be invited to join in. They shared secrets with each other to the point anything they said to each other were mere whispers.
Everyone was confused, Y/N used to be a cheerful and happy girl who'd always want to help and was always so caring. But now, she was the complete opposite, she was often scared from the movement of another, (Except for Aesop of course) she would always whisper, she rarely smiled unless it was towards The Embalmer and she never bothered to help or check how the others were doing. Some even got jealous of how close Aesop and her were.

All of the survivors and even some hunter missed the old her, the Y/N that they knew. The Y/N that used to always ask how everyone was, the Y/N that always offered to help another with something if they were struggling with it, the Y/N that would help them with anything. The Y/N that cared.
She wouldn't even bother to help Emma, and Emma was one of the kindest and easiest people to talk to.

Aesop smiled at the girl as she sat on his bed and talked, she twirled the wire of the flower-crown and stopped talking for a minute to slide one of the flowers on the wire.
"Hey, Y/N?" She responded not looking up, "Hm?" The Embalmer stayed quiet for a bit, "Why don't you.. You know.. Check up on everyone like you used to?" She stopped midway of sliding a flower on the wire, "I just don't care to do it anymore, they never did the same for me so.. I gave up. There's no point in trying to be nice if I don't get even the smallest gestures back in return.." Aesop frowned at this, "You can't stay like this forever y'know.. You've got to do something with the others, atleast spend time with someone other then me." She sighed, "I know.. It's just, I don't like spending time with others. I.. like spending time with you.." She admitted - a light blush covering her face.

The Embalmer felt his lips curve up into a smile, "And why is that?" She rolled her eyes feeling a smile slowly creep into her face, "'Cause I like you, you idiot." The Embalmer chuckled patting her head, "I know." She looked up at him giving him a playful glare which he laughed at,
"Come here." She obliged leaning into his warm embrace as he planted a soft kiss onto her nose.
"I like you too."

im literally thinking to myself if this day could get any better because first of all, it's valentines day and I have a valentine :)) the valentine just so happens to be my girlfriend! we only just started dating today, we had dated in the past before but stopped because we were both very young and didn't understand love that much. that's not the point though,, so I've got a valentine, a lover, and a book with 13.5K lovely readers that have blessed me throughout the journey of this book. i am- sjjftj im literally at a loss for words pls-
