Dea
At one o'clock in the afternoon, when the train rattled the wheels on one of the viaducts and another fleeting landscape changed in the window, a saleswoman with a trolley looked into the compartment. All in pink rags, only from a distance resembling a robe, she smiled kindly, looking with her plump face into the opening. Luna and Seamus clapped their hands enthusiastically. Even before the question "do we need something" they ordered a bunch of sweets.
"Don't you want something too?" - the saleswoman asked me, receiving a pile of coins.
Her chin, with a barely noticeable dimple, jumped in time with the train. I looked down in embarrassment. I didn't want to eat at all. The sandwiches that the cook had prepared especially for me were lying uneaten. I slowly shook my head, saying no, receiving the interested glances of fellow travelers in response. The old woman frowned in displeasure but closed the door and walked on.
There was a deep silence. Seamus even stopped playing with wrappers. Luna pretended that nothing unnatural had happened. I followed her example. What if I don't feel like eating sweets?
"You have no money?" - I heard a question on the right and turned to the speaking Seamus. - "Let me treat you. I have a bunch of sweets."
I shook my head no.
"Thanks, but I really don't want anything." - I answered after a short pause.
Seamus twisted a finger at his temple, it seems, not understanding why he was in the compartment with the abnormal. Luna smiled encouragingly.
"Now you're as sane as I am." - she said and then raked the purchased sweets into a pile and stuffed them into the bag.
Why they were needed I did not ask and did not want to know.
After sitting a little in silence, I went out into the corridor, taking my bag with me. Hermione and Neville haven't returned yet. They searched the entire train but did not find the nimble toad, so they went on a second circle. Although I wanted to help a friend I didn't feel deep feelings for a tailless amphibian and remained in the compartment.
The corridor was empty. Students enjoyed purchased sweets, discussing their affairs. I stood by the window, leaning on the handrail that ran along the corridor. The sun was blinding but it did not hurt to enjoy the incredible view from the green meadows, small groves that bend them, and forests. I left London twice before, traveling to France last year and going to my grandmother's in Scotland a few months ago, but we used flying gunpowder. The indescribable beauty of nature was new to me and I enthusiastically absorbed the wild landscapes.
"Wow, look, a girl from Ollivander's idiot shop!" - the boy's voice broke my loneliness.
Its owner was dragging out his words. Laughter sounded nearby. I turned my head and met the piercing gaze of familiar gray eyes. On either side of the gloomy boy were two huge boys, otherwise you cannot name these children fed by their mothers. It seems that it was their cry that I heard on Diagon Alley. And all because of the confiscated candy!
"Wow, look, this is the son of a man who fawned over my mother so much!" - I retorted, copying his tone.
The chuckles died away in a flash.
"You dare to challenge Draco Malfoy?" - the blond took a step towards me.
He was taller than me, but just as skinny.
"Will you hit the girl, Dr...? What was your name again?" -I raised my eyebrows.
Let's see what he does next.
"You will pay for this. You are lucky you are not a Mudblood!" - he spat in my face.
Saliva dripped slowly down my face, leaving an unpleasant white mark. I winced. It's a pity I didn't take a handkerchief.
