After the match we rushed to lunch; I was so hungry because of excitement that I rushed to the Great Hall faster than anyone else. On the way to my seat I caught the hateful glances of the Slytherins on myself. It seems that the feelings of their captain were seriously hurt, and not only the captain.
"Hey Lupin!" - someone called to me.
I turned around with a smile, recognizing the voice.
"Cedric, hello!"
"That was a cool game! You're a celebrity now!" - praised the Hufflepuff.
"Not a bigger celebrity than Potter" - I waved him off.
I liked attention, but not that much. Especially from the seniors.
"Well, Miss Modesty, Bon Appetit." - Diggory winked and returned to his desk.
Hundreds of interested glances followed him tensely.
I took my place and immediately began to eat. Soon the rest of the guys came up. Fred and George, as always, flopped down on the bench on either side of me.Our cheerful company enjoyed delicious food and interesting conversation: George told all sorts of stories. As soon as Fred supporting his brother continued his entertaining story the Great Hall instantly fell silent. I didn't immediately understand what was the matter until I felt him move away making room. Someone sat between us.
I turned my head slowly, expecting to see anyone."Dea?" - I was surprised.
“Hello” - the blonde timidly fiddled with the edge of the gray sweater.
She stood out among the other students for the lack of a robe, probably didn't have time to go into the room to change.
Looking around, I noticed the dislike with which the Gryffindors looked at her. Damn proudness! They just can't believe that there can be good people among serpents."Hello. Have you watched the match?" - I calmly continued the conversation trying not to drive the girl into a more awkward position.
“Unfortunately, I barely made it to the end of the match. Some circumstances got in the way." - she replied directing her gaze to the Slytherin table.
I followed her gaze trying to figure out who these “circumstances” were, but I only noticed with what malice the Slytherins were looking at Amaretto. They did not understand how she could sit quietly at the table of their enemy, especially after the shameful defeat.
“Actually, I came to congratulate you” - Dea said, taking me away from my thoughts.
"Sorry, what?" - I asked.
“I want to congratulate you on your victory. I heard you played very well." - she confirmed.
“Thank you, but... Aren't you offended? You've lost...” - I wondered.
"Not at all. Actually, I was rooting for you, although I don't particularly like Quidditch.” - She winced. - “For me, the main thing is fair play and the ability to accept any outcome.”
The whole school heard the sound of falling jaws. Lions certainly didn't expect to hear this from a snake.
“Okay, see you later” - Dea said sharply and hurried out of the Hall.
"Maybe you will transfer to us?" - Fred shouted to her.
Somewhere at the Slytherin table a fork fell...
A day later, Harry, Ron, Hermione and I were walking around the school grounds with Hagrid.
"Nonsense... Why would Snape curse Harry's broom?" - the giant wondered.
