Nesta spent the rest of the holidays with the twins. The trio made fun of Filch or Percy every now and then, then fleeing from the wrath of both after. The pranksters hid in back rooms and niches that Fred and George knew suspiciously a lot about.
Sometimes the girl visited Hagrid, drank tea with the giant and listened to his usual stories about various forbidden animals. He kindly offered her hard cookies of his own making, she never refused. By the way, he did not mention anything more about Nicholas Flamel, no matter how he was taken away by themes, jumping now into the past, now into the present.
Harry couldn't make up his mind to go to the Forbidden Section. He thought that Snape had sent the invisibility cloak to catch him on the crime and therefore did not agree to any persuasion of his friends. Ron even flared up, they quarreled, but quickly reconciled. The last day of vacation, the evening before the arrival of the rest of the students.
Lupin sat in the living room with the twins, reading a book about the history of magic, while Fred and George contemplated a new prank. The hardcover book told the story easily, with jokes and entertaining inserts. Nesta imagined Professor Beans transforming from a dull teacher to a merry fellow, and sighed sadly. This will not happen.
"Hey, Nes... We got interested here." - Fred began, taking the book from her hands.
"Why did you give all your friends the danger warning pendants, but you don't have one?" - finished for his brother George.
The girl shrugged, bringing the Talmud back to her knees.
"I don't know... I didn't think about myself when I bought it." - she answered sleepily.
Her eyes got tired and sticky from reading, and the whole day of perky jokes made themselves felt.
"It's time for you to stop caring only about others. Be selfish just a little. " - she did not understand which of the brothers said the last phrase.
"I can't, that's my personality." - she smiled at both of them. - "Okay, I'll go to bed. See you at breakfast. "
The brunette went up into the room and, having changed into her pajamas, lay down on the bed, falling asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow.
The peaceful sleep did not last long. Someone was screaming desperately on the stairs leading to the women's rooms. He yelled so hard that a voice cut through the doze:
"Nes, get up! Wake up soon!"
Groaning, the girl slowly raised her head and glanced at the clock on the bedside table. Two o'clock in the morning! Who needs to wake up at a time like this?
"Lupin, get down faster!" - this someone clearly wanted death at the hands of a little witch.
The girl muttered something incomprehensible in displeasure and crawled out from under the warm blanket. Throwing on her robe, she hid her wand in her pocket and, grabbing Buttercup, went downstairs, where she found an overly cheerful Chosen One and sleepy Ron.
"Are you crazy? Or do you have a death wish?" - Nesta hissed angrily, pointing her fist in their direction.
Buttercup meowed in dismay. The boys muttered apologies, to which their friend rolled her eyes. Already awakened, what can you do.
"I have to show you something!" - said Potter.
He looked excited.
"Can't it wait until morning?" - Nes asked, yawning.
"No!" - the boy grabbed his friends by the hands and dragged the school corridors.
"Where are we going?" - Weasley asked at the next door.
