Chapter Eighteen

Landing heavily on my feet in a wooded area, Sapphire still held tightly in my arms as i can feel her struggling to calm herself, all i do is just stand and wait, i know she is strong enough to do this, i'll just be here to support her when she needs it. The cool wind whispers through the trees, the moonlight is the only light that illuminates between the limbs of the trees, the woods are eerily quiet, Sapphire's skin is slowly cooling as she hangs her head down, her breathing and heartbeat slowing.

"I felt Aeliana." Sapphire whispers, her hands resting atop of mine as she lifts her head, inhaling deeply.

"She's still with you Sapphire, i think we need to help her come out." I reply, kissing her neck softly, feeling her pulse beating strongly under my lips.

"I don't know how though, Aeliana was just always there before." She spins in my arms and i see the worry in her gaze, her teeth worrying on her lip.

"She wasn't always just there. She has always come out when you've been in danger or felt like you were. I think i have a way to bring her out." I cup her face in my palms, trying to convince Sapphire with my words, she melts against me, the trust in her eyes is breathtaking.

"How?"

"Byron set you off back then, i think Aeliana was attempting to come through to protect you then. Anger is going to be the fastest way to force her back to you."

"I won't do it. I could hurt him, i could hurt you." Sapphire almost whimpers, capturing her lips in a soft caress i try to show my complete love for her.

"We aren't easy to kill and i will not let you hurt us seriously. Aeliana and i have danced before, she seemed rather taken by me once, surely it will still be the same now. We just need her back with you, where she should be." Sapphire reaches up, cupping the back of my neck, bringing her lips close to mine.

"I need you." She whispers before capturing my lips in a deep kiss, my hands dig into her hips to hold her close even as she shifts closer, we break apart and she kisses down to my throat, cupping the back of her head i hold her against my skin, tilting my head to give her better access, lightening shoots through my veins as her fangs sink deep into my flesh, fisting her soft hair in my fingers i lose myself to the complete pleasure washing through me, the moment she releases my neck i pull her head back, exposing the delicate column of her throat where i sink my own fangs, her hot ambrosia laced blood explodes on my senses and it feels as though we are connected even deeper than before, almost as if i can feel all the sensations in her body as well as my own, the pleasure is blinding and the love is all consuming. Releasing her throat i kiss her deeply, reveling in the wildness in her and the ability to provide everything she needs, i will not walk away from her, no matter what, we are a team and we will always fight through any roadblock. Lifting Sapphire into my arms, her legs wrap around my waist as the earth falls away, the momentary weightlessness is something im getting rather used to already, my feet hit the soft ground, we break apart and i grin, noting we are back in our bedroom. Without hesitation i pull her top over her head before kissing her deeply, she gives as good as she gets, the next breath she rips my top off, her nails running lightly down my chest. The shrill call of my phone has me groaning, Sapphire couldn't look more pissed, she hops off, pouting as i grab my phone.

"This had better be important." I half growl, trying and failing to hide my annoyance.

"We've had a tip off about Grant." I freeze as Alex's voice echoes through the phone, Grant has always been one of us brothers but 3 years ago he distanced himself from us and then seemed to have vanished off the face of the Earth.

"Where is he?" 

"They said he's in Italy."

"You think he went home?"
