Looking deep into Sapphire's azure and ruby pools i take a deep breath and begin, i always wished that my past never happened but there is one thing i am thankful for, my past has somehow lead me to the amazing woman sat by my side, willing to accept my baggage and move forward, i glance at Dylan and he nods glumly, i know we have all wanted to keep this part of us hidden but past has a funny way of catching up with us.

"The year was 1500, King Louis XII had recently come into power in Italy, his advisor was a vampire called Domenico, he was a master strategist and a violent warrior. My brothers and i were called upon to join the fight against the enemies, we did his bidding, little did we know that he would betray us. At the beginning of 1504 we were prisoners of a Spanish viceroy, General Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba. We were all weak from the many battles and could not break out, then Domenico came to us one night, our wounds festering, unable to heal without fresh blood, from where there was none in the dungeon. Domenico gave us an ultimatum, we either died in the dungeon or one of us would marry his daughter and unite our families. None of us realised just what his ultimatum would cause, of course we chose to accept his proposal, he broke us out of there the following night, we killed all the guards we met, draining them to the point of death, their blood gave us the strength we needed to get away and escape with Domenico to his home in Impruneta. After days of arguing between myself and my brothers we finally came to the conclusion that i was the one who would marry his daughter, although i had the royal blood in my veins i was not directly from the royal family so i would have no other responsibilities. I still remember Domenico's face of pure glee as i informed him that i would marry his daughter, Francesca." I see Sapphire's eyes bleed black before she blinks and her azure and ruby gaze is back. Dylan leans back on the sofa while Lorenzo watches Sapphire closely, a little too closely for my liking.

"So i went with him to meet Francesca and she was captivating, i will always give her that, she has the looks, but the craze in her eyes immediately set my hackles up. Paul wasn't happy about it but what could he do, we had to stick to our promise even if we hated it, Domenico isn't a vampire that could easily be destroyed, he held powers we could have only imagined at that time." Dylan continues, i glare at him when he starts almost praising Francesca, she was a beautiful woman but she was a complete psycho.

"So we stayed in Impruenta for months, Francesca hardly ever left my side, the only time she left my side was to feed, i walked in on her once, feeding and the sight horrified me, her victim was still struggling under her even though the victims throat was torn out, Francesca was covered in blood, her gaze swung to mine and her sadistic smile caused my stomach to revult, i barely made it to the gardens before i threw up, since being changed Byron and Alex made sure that we knew not to kill when we fed, to make it clean, although back in those times when people went missing they often weren't looked for, there was no trails to follow. But Francesca's complete lack of humanity chilled me to the core, i just felt like all of it was wrong and something inside me warned me that we all needed to get away before it was too late. I remember racing to my brothers rooms only to find them empty, without warning i was captured by Domenico's guards and dragged to a dungeon. Francesca was obsessed with me, she tried to break me, i don't know how long i was trapped there but i slowly felt my mind disintergrating, my body starved of all blood but hers, everytime i tried to kill myself she would always bring me back, eventually i broke and agreed to marry her. Finally i was allowed to feed and they swiftly got the wedding prepared, i had no idea what had happened to my brothers at this point, i don't know how long it had been since i had last saw them."

"14 months." Dylan fills in grimly, i look to him in shock, we had never spoken of what had really happened, much less the timeline, Sapphire squeezes my hand in support, her warm frame aligned with mine, even Lorenzo looks taken aback.
