Cold in LA

Chapter 5

I laid in the bed thinking about the day and about how I feel so much better when I am around these guys. I only met them a few hours ago but I already have a feeling like they are going to be a big part of my life.

Soon I feel my eyes too heavy to keep open and I drift into a deep dreamless sleep.

The next day

I'm not sure what time it was when I woke up, it feels like early cause the sun is shining in my eyes from the window. I roll on my side and look over the side of the bed to say good morning to Jonah. I look over and see an unmade bed on the ground but no Jonah.

After a few minutes of laying in bed I finally get up and walk downstairs.

"Morning." I hear a voice say to me. I look around and see it came from Daniel, who was sitting at the island in the kitchen eating some breakfast.

"Morning" I smile back at him.

"Where's everyone?" I ask him as I sit down on the stool across from him.

"Umm.. Well Zach doesn't wake up till like noon. Jack is in the garage practicing his new guitar. Corbyn is on facetime with his girlfriend, she lives in New York so they call in the morning cause of the time difference. And Jonah went for a run and to get coffee, he's addicted."

We both laugh

"Well since you aren't doing anything do you mind if I join you?" I ask him sweetly.

"Not at all!" He smiles and I see he has a gap in his front teeth, it's actually kinda cute.

"So you have any plans for the day?" I ask Daniel.

"We are going to record some music and we all have a meeting with our manager about the new album but that's not till later you got any plans?" He asks me in return.

I think for a minute and then answer, "Well I need to find a new apartment then if I get lucky I might be able to go home and pack all my stuff before Mason gets off work." I look down at my hands thinking about all of the things I need to get done.

We both sat in silence not knowing what to say. Which was fine because I didn't feel like talking.

After a few minutes Jonah came back with two coffees in his hands.

"Hey Grace, how did you sleep?" Jonah asked while walking over to us.

"I slept great, thank you for the bed. It was so comfy." I smiled at him.

"Yeah no problem! I'm glad you liked it!" he said on return.

"Wait! Did you guys share a bed last night?" Daniel asks, looking shocked.

"No, she slept in my bed and I slept on the floor." he explains to Daniel.

We all laugh.

"Oh Grace I got you a coffee, I don't know how you take it so I just guessed. I hope that's okay?" He handed me a cup. I took a sip and it was the best coffee I have ever had!

"Is that blueberry?!" I ask excitedly.

"Yeah it is, is that okay?" He asked nervously.

"Yes this is amazing!" I giggle and take another sip.

After about an hour all of the guys had finished with what they were doing and all of us were sitting in the kitchen talking about random stuff .

"You guys ready to go to the studio?" Corbyn asked the guys.

"Yeah I'm ready." Jack says and stands up.

"Jonah you coming?" Zach asked as they all started getting their shoes on.

"Um I was actually going to give Grace a ride to her house, then I will catch up with you guys." Jonah looks at me to see if I was okay with that.

"Thank you I appreciate it." I smile at him.

Jonah and I get into the car and I give him the address.

"Hey can I get your number in case you need something." he asks and hands me his phone.

"Of course!" I add my number and text myself so I have his number.

I was sitting there not really saying anything.

"Hey chatty you nervous?" he laughs

"Yeah just a bit." I answer honestly.

"I can stay with you if you would like." he offers.

"I should be fine but thank you."

The ride was short because I didn't live that far from the boys.

"Thank you for the ride Jonah, you are to nice." I smile and get out of the car.

I walk up to the door and find the hidden key in the flower pot.

I take a deep breath and turn the handle.
