"Mornin" I hear Colby Speak, barely over a whisper.

My heart skipped a beat, cliché, I know. But I can't explain it. I barely know him, and the first thing he did was try to start shit. But I know deep down that he needs someone just as much as I do right now.

Maybe not a lover just yet, no, but a friend. Someone to have his back, that he could tell his troubles to.

I know he has Sam, but they are kinda on the rocks right now.

"Morning" I smile down at him. "I really didn't mean to fall asleep, I promise we didn't do anything last ni-" He stops me.

"Y/N, I know you wouldn't take advantage of me. Kat's told me a lot about you. Now what about that renewed greeting?" He smirks at me.

"Hi, I'm Y/N!" I grin and hold my hand out, as a gesture for him to shake it.

"Hi, I'm Colby. It's nice to me you!" He shakes my hand with a firm grasp as he finishes his sentence.

"Well... now that we are acquainted, wanna go get some Tender Greens I'm starving!" Colby generously asks.

I sit and think for a moment, it couldn't hurt right, we are just friends.

"Yeah sure!" He grabs my hand and runs down the stairs out to his maroon Corolla.

"What the hell are you doing?" Sam runs after us before we could make it out to the car.

"Umm... going to eat, what does it look like we're doing?" Colby nonchalantly replies.

"You just met Y/N and already got her in bed with you!" Sam starts to get angry, but I stop him before it escalates.

"Sam, I went up there last night when Colby yelled at me drunk. I took him to his room. I was going to leave..." I look at Colby not wanting to mention his need for comfort last night "b-but I fell asleep, I was so tired from the party, and we were talking. It just kinda, happened. But nothing bad. Just friends Sam, nothing more nothing less." I smile awkwardly, as it seems I'm trying to cover something up, but really I'm just trying to save Colby embarrassment.

"I'll take your word for it." Sam blankly replies and walks back toward the Hawaii fortress (tf did I just say lmaoo). (A/n 2023: at least I knew it sounded dumb)

"Sooo, Tender Greens?" Colby smiles kindly to ease the tension.

It's not like I noticed his effort, I was too busy staring at his cute little dimples. Dammit! Y/N stop, just friends!

"Off we go then!" I quickly reply and try to forget the last thought, as hard as it is.
