SEPTEMBER WEND BY before I knew it, and it was already Halloween. Ah, yes, my favourite season, and my favourite holiday. Dressing up myself, dressing up my cat, forcing Draco to match costumes with me, forcing Draco to wear a costume, free candy, and the spooky pranks I would do with the Weasley twins.
And yes, Draco and I were back on speaking terms.
Before school had started, I dressed up Konan in a little knitted shark costume that Mrs. Weasley had sent to me the other day. I also snuck Draco into my dorm and used eyeliner to draw whiskers and noses onto both of our faces.
"Laekyn, do I have to?" Draco whined as I held up a pair of cat ears. I rolled my eyes. "Yes. And don't even think of taking them off until you go to bed, or I will glue them onto your head for the rest of your days!" I threatened. Draco sighed in defeat and placed the cat ears on his head.
I squealed and jumped up and down. "You look so cute!" I exclaimed, making Draco blush. "W-what?!" He gulped. I stopped, clearing my throat. "I- well- you know.. cats.. are cute." I said. Draco raised an eyebrow, looking behind me. "You sure?"
I turned around to see Konan hack up a hairball onto the floor. I turned back around. "It's normal. Nature." I said, placing my own cat ears on my head. They had emerald green rhinestones as an outline.
"Do I look 'right?" I asked. Draco smiled. "You look great Laekyn, now let's go to breakfast, were going to be late." He said, dragging me down the the Great Hall. Konan sprinted after us and jumped into my arms. When we arrived, the scent of pumpkin spice blessed my nostrils. I closed my eyes and gave a deep sigh. "Oh, don't you just love Autumn?" I asked Draco as I twirled around. He chuckled.
"I suppose it's nice. Why do you love it so much?" He wondered as we sat down at the table. I poured some milk in a bowl for Konan. "Well, aside from torturing you with costumes being my favourite part," I winked. "I love the way the temperature drops. Not too cold, yet not too warm. The way the leaves change to reds, oranges, and yellows, making every tree look pleasing to the eye. Even the way the air outside grasps a certain fresh scent, as if the rain and misty wind had it's own lovely odor that effects everything it touches. And of course-"
"We get it, you like fall." Pansy Parkinson scoffed from her spot. "I'd like it much more if you weren't here.." I muttered quietly, rolling my eyes with a frown. "A cat? Really? That's so basic, it's not even cute anymore." She said, eyeing me up and down. My jaw clenched. "Draco, hold me back right now, I swear on the girls Will snogs-" I whispered.
