Y/N walked down the sidewalk, eyes trained on her feet.
What if they all think I'm dumb? Or ugly? Or annoying? What if I just fall, flat on my face?
"Penny for your thoughts?" the male next to her said, his silver hair shining in the early morning sun. (Y/N) jolted out of her thoughts, turning to her cousin, Suga.
"Just a little nervous," she replied, forcing a smile.
He chuckled at her failed attempt of minimizing her nerves, "don't worry, (Y/N), you're gonna do great. And you won't be alone, you've got me! Plus, the volleyball team is gonna love you!"
This eased your fears slightly, but you couldn't help the knot in your stomach. The two of you continued walking without too much conversation until you reached Karasuno High School. You gazed at the campus, all the more intimidated. Although you'd visited before, you'd never expected to attend the school. Somehow that made it scarier.
"Come, on, Y/N, I'm gonna be late for morning practice," Suga complained, dragging you to the gym. You walked in together, his hand still holding you by the wrist. It seemed that most of the team was already warming up. Damn these boys are dedicated you thought, watching a small redhead as he flew to twice his height. This seemed to instigate an argument with a tall black-haired fellow, about what you couldn't tell.
"SUGA!" a man with a shaved head yelled, "IS THAT YOUR GIRLFRIEND?!"
"My...." he looked at where he was holding my wrist and quickly let go, "No, no, this is my cousin, l/n f/n." At this announcement, the entire team ran over, surrounding the two of you, relentlessly spitting out questions.
Eventually, they were all shut up by an older man with dyed blonde hair who walked into the gym. You could only assume he was the coach. "What's all this commotion about? Why aren't we warming up?" One of the third years, Daichi, spoke for them all replying "We're greeting Suga's cousin who just moved here"
"Greeting, more like ambushing," you mumbled. Suga gave you a sharp elbow to the ribs. Whoops, did you actually say that out loud? You scratched the back of the head, mouthing sorry. Luckily it seemed like no one else heard, and if they did, they didn't seem to care too much.
The coach let out a sigh, "Well looks like we're not gonna get started on time anyways, so introduce yourself..." he trailed off, realizing he didn't know your name.
"I'm l/n f/n, you said, giving a slight bow. I'm in class 1-4. I just moved in with Suga and his parents. I lived in America, but I move in with my aunt and uncle because my parents don't like the education system there but they couldn't move here due to their work."
One by one, the whole team introduced themselves. There were the third years you instantly recognized from some pictures Suga had shown you before. The scary one who was (apparently) a softie, Asahi, the level headed captain, Daichi, and the team manager, the beautiful Kiyoko. Then there were the second years. The loud baldie, Tanaka, and his sidekick, Noya, followed by Ennoshita, Kinoshita, and Narita. Finally, there were the first years.
"Hi! I'm Yamaguchi! I'm in class 1-4 too so looks like we'll be classmates," a green-haired, freckled boy said with a smile.
"Oh awesome, it'll be nice to know someone," you replied, shaking his hand.
"Tsukishima," a tall blonde boy said, an uninterested look plastered on his face.
"Oi maybe speak up not all of us are genetically modified beanstalks," you said, looking up at him.
"Not my fault you're such a shorty," he said with a smirk, "Tsukishima," he repeated anyway.
You rolled your eyes, greeting the next boy. He was shorter than you and had fiery orange hair.
