i have my days

"uhh," the brunette eyed you rather quizzically. "so are those, like, for the both of us or...?"
she pointed towards the rather excessive amount of food the waiters are currently placing down your table, eyes darting from one plate to another, as if she couldn't decide which dish to look at first.
you chuckled as you watched her take the empty seat across from you. "no, just mine."
the older girl laughed, so you turned towards her confusedly with an eyebrow raised. she only stopped laughing when she realized that you were staring at her, and her eyes immediately widened at the plain seriousness of your facial expression. "wait, that wasn't a joke?"
you rolled your eyes at her in response, which she had to blink at several times repeatedly.
you thought she looked adorable.
"you're actually serious?" the brunette asked in utter disbelief. "i mean, these are even enough to feed the table next to ours-"
however, she cut herself off when she noticed the displeased look on your face, so she let out a breath of nervous chuckle, instead. "so what do you want for dessert?"
you tried to bite off a laugh at that, but you ended up failing anyway, which caused her to smile at you adoringly, head slightly tilting to the side.
"don't worry. like i told you, i'll pay you the second we get back to new york."
the latter scoffed. "i didn't know you can be painfully stubborn sometimes, too." she said, gesturing with her hand to call a waiter's attention.
you chuckled as you started to dig on the fresh slice of cinnamon bun sitting on your plate. "i have my days."
the two of you chatted endlessly as you went on with brunch, everything about the most random of things. she also bought you dessert like she promised, which you basically inhaled right after your meal, causing the brunette to just stare at you wide-eyed in utter disbelief.
"aish! seriously," she exclaimed when you excitedly took the bag of french macarons from her hands, which she bought for you at a homemade pastry shop you spotted just across the street. "how is it even possible for someone that skinny to manage eating like a fucking elephant?"
you only glared at her in response.
after brunch, you decided to take a midday stroll to parc monceau, which is only a few minute drive from the restaurant. she bought candy apples for the both of you to eat as you walked side by side along the concrete pathway, the brunette taking stolen pictures of you and with you here and there, which earns her a solid smack on the shoulder each time she did.
you took a picture of her when she made an obviously failed, yet hilarious attempt of copying one of the statues in the park, breaking into a fit of joyous laughter at her silliness and unconsciously swatting her arm as you shoved the screen into her face.
however, it turns out that you hit her a little harder than you intended to, so she shot you a glare, devilish smirk forming on her lips as she ran towards your direction. you widened your eyes, attempting to run for your life but failing to do so, as the brunette was fast enough to catch you and grab you forcefully by the waist.
"oh my god, stop it, chu!" you laughed as she continued to tickle you on your sides mercilessly, neither of you even realizing that you just called her by the old nickname that everyone else who knows her seems to.
you finally managed to free yourself from her grip, and now it's her turn to run away, and yours to chase her around as you both laughed uncontrollably like silly eight-year-olds, too engrossed in the moment to mind the entire rest of the world.
you managed to catch her and tackle her to the ground, causing your bodies to roll off the pavement and into the grass, stopping with you on top. you sent her a smug grin.
"cheerleading," you explained, nose scrunching up teasingly, which caused the older girl beneath you to let out a hearty laugh.
however, you were surprised when she switched your positions all of a sudden, massive hands pinning yours above your head with such ease and lopsided smirk equally smug.
"good thing i top cheerleaders, then." she laughed, the statement immediately sending you off to a blushing mess.
it seems like your reaction caused her to laugh even louder, so you had to lean up forcefully and mesh your lips with hers to shut her up.
