you're okay
-
"hey," you heard jisoo's soft voice ringing against your ear as you felt her arm wrap around your shoulder securely. you turned towards her, and she sent you a light chuckle. "why are you staring so intensely at that poor painting?"
you rolled your eyes, lightly elbowing her on the stomach as you turned to face the abstract painting hanging on the wall of the hotel lobby once again.
you felt your lips tug to your eyes. "why is it that people go crazy over abstract art when they're the ones that don't even make sense the most?"
as you get lost in the series of random shapes and colors permanently marked on the framed canvas in front of you, you missed the way jisoo turned to look at you, lips tugging to her chocolate eyes as she adoringly watched the way your own hazelnut ones radiate warmth and plain curiosity.
"you know, sometimes things that doesn't make sense at all turn out to be the most beautiful ones."
her response caused you to turn your gaze towards her direction, hazel eyes doubling in size as you now get lost in the pools of chocolate in her captivating gems.
you felt your heart beating uncontrollably inside your chest.
"like what?" you asked, cherry lips slightly parted as you glanced down the older girl's bow-shaped ones.
jisoo's smile widened even more, lips turning into an adorable heart shape, as she used her free hand to reach up and lightly caress your cheek.
"like this," she leaned in, pressing a featherly kiss against your lips and pulling away immediately after a second to stare at you again. "like us," you closed your eyes as you felt your throat going dry, yet you couldn't contain your own smile as you felt the way jisoo hovers her lips just above yours, the addictive scent of spring and lemongrass reeking from her breath. "like our story."
you felt like the world just stopped spinning at the brunette's words, because it's just right then you realized that it's all true.
and how crazy would it be for someone to run away with a complete stranger on her eighteenth birthday, riding a private jet and eating not-so-disgusting airplane food; meeting her best friend and all of their household servants and bodyguards and learning what their names are, except hers; booking a suite just for themselves when there's literally her grandmother's mansion standing tall at the heart of the city; ordering every single thing in the menu for brunch and playing and chasing each other like little kids at the park;
randomly opening up to her in an elevator, and making out with her every little chance that you get despite not even knowing what her name is.
now that you thought of it, every single one of them does not, in any way, make sense at all,
yet it's the most beautiful to you,
and you just know it'll always be until the end of time.
you let out a chuckle as you felt your tears now starting to stream down your face. jisoo was quick to wipe them away for you, sending you another one of her insanely charming lopsided grin as she leaned in to press a soft kiss on your forehead.
"you're okay, princess." she mumbled, voice barely audible, and you just had to wrap her in the tightest embrace, face burying deep in the crook of her neck as you mumbled back in the most fragile of voices,
"i know."
