With the money from the books Worker-brought the superior tools for Alchemy and Synthesis. Now she could boil, condense and grind ingredients into into a drinkable potion, thin powder or paste. Thanks to that she could now produce more efficient and less ingredient consuming items.
The Weak Energy Drinks and Weak Potions became Weak Energy Drink+ and Weak Potion+, they recovered stamina and mana faster.
The antidote took less time to take effect and was renamed Antidote+.
The cataplasms became Cataplasm+ and could now stop infections and fevers. She discovered an Antiseptic past and a Anti-Parralysis pill that she produced by grinding and mixing several ingredients.
Then by diluting the Anti-Parralysis Pill into a Potion while it is boiling she got an Anti-Parralysis Potion.Starting new books called Beginner Alchemy and Beginner Synthesis she started taking notes of all the changes and improvements, making experimentations by grinding and boiling her ingredients at different temperatures.
When the third day came arround she had tried every combination possible with her usual infredients. Deciding that limiting her ingredients ment limiting her experimentations and Alchemy processes she left the Academy and visited the market place.
There she baught salt, various seeds, herbs, roots and spices she did not know about and started experimenting again for four days. Once done she had developed a Flavored Weak Potion that recovered 17% health and a Flavored Standard Potion with 33%. they came in three color red purple for grape, golden yellow for apple and soft orange for, well, orange. They were sold in a matter of hours asa normal weak potion recovered 10-11% and a standard one did 25-28% depending on the concentration put in their conception.
Tired of having to sell them she contacted a shop that sold consumables and arranged a contract with them. In exchange for 10% of the sell price they would sell her wares, considering that the shop set the price higher than she herself sold she still made profits and didn't hesitate to agree.
When she connected on the seventy first day a system message welcomed her.
[congratulation, you have grown!
Your physical apparence shall change to reflect your action of the last month, skills and apritudes you have kearned will forever be with you and cannot be lost anymore.
It is advised you reset your status plate, change clothes and look at your reflexion as soon as possible.]Looking at herself she noticed that she was a little more muscled, especially her legs.
"Must be because of all the exercise from Target Practice.."
She realized how much her avatar changed on her next Basic Ritual class. As she moved, dancing on the rhythm of the tambourin she felt that her body was lithe and supple, different from the clumsy and weak body she used to have. The same could be said during Practical Targeting class. She no longer felt tired after half an hour of moving and she was swifter than usual too.
Thanks to her new body she started to enjoy target practice and excelled in the dance based Rituals of the Amazones. After her first week in her improved body she decided that she had spend too much time in the academy. She grabbed her satchel, alchemy and synthesizing kits, a few potions and bandages and her staff before going straight to the village exit.
Her fist battle was with a rabbit. She had tried to caress the adorable looking animal only to be attacked by a head but. Falling on her back side and frozen by surprise she only escaped the second hit by reflex. Swinging her staff with her eyes closed and with a small shriek she felt a crunching sensation travel from the staff to her hand then arm and reopened her eyes.
The rabbit who looked so cute moments ago now had a crushed skill and crimson blood stained him. The tip of her staff was also red, without thinking she touched it and blood now tainted her fingers. This was Worker-san blood baptism.
It took her a few minutes to recover her wits, she then looked around her and noticed other players hunting the rabbits and rarer foxes. They hit them unhesitantly until they died and either looted them of their skin and meat or put them into their bags before attacking another one.Worker-san was then reminded of the mainstream way of playing: grinding, looting, enhancing one self through level ups or equipment and going back to grinding. Since levels did not exist equipment was the way to go but to obtain equipment one had to either kill humanoid mobs, craft it with materials or buy it. The safest option and the only one available to Worker-san right now was the monetary one.
Hopefully thanks to the sell of her books, drinks, potions and pills she had quite the amount. For now through she decided to get used to hunting. For the next two hours Worker-san stayed in the fields surrounding Last City, hunting rabbits and picking herbs as she saw them. She fought against her love for the cute fur balls and managed to fight them with little difficulty. She even fought against a fox and won.
Worker-san didn't know it but she was way overpowering the poor animals. To start with, her character was mage based therefore was supposed to used magic as its main weapon and physical attacks as its last resort but Worker-san ignored the regular way of thinking and kept using her magic staff as a battle staff and never once used magic.
Whenever her health was low she would swallow a potion or rest before going back to fight. To the eyes of the other players, her wooden staff dress and the dirt she was covered with made them believe she was a non combatant class player. Some of them even suggested she was a Villager. Still, she was able to kill rabbits and foxes with one or two hits. Maybe she was a crafter. Crafters need a lot of strength. Yes, she was a crafter. She had to be.
At the end of the day, when most players were already logging off, Worker-san realized that her bag was nearly filled. She decided to sell the rabbits and foxes but didn't know who to. She ended following another player with a bountiful bag like her. The player led her to a hunter's house where she sold the rabbits and foxes for a small sum.
Her day ended with supper at the Academy with her roommate. She told her her day and was dutifully corrected in the ways of grinding.
"What do you mean you didn't use magic?... Only your staff?.... But your a mage! What is wrong with you?! Do you have no common sense? Mage use magic!"
Upon realization Worker-san decided to use magic next time she hunted. Her only problem was that even if she knew plenty about theoretical magic she had never used it and didn't posses any offensive skills. She knew Blind Weaken and Slow, that was all. She would have to work on that.
Or join a group.
Her life and ligth affinities gave her the role of healer and buffer... maybe she was more suited as a rear member.
