"I still can't believe it. Oh my god!" Alexis screamed."Shh!" I poked her belly. She giggled and rolled over.
Alexis and I were currently lounging around in my room, because, of course my parents weren't home. As soon as I woke up I called her and she came, we ate breakfast and now we were here. I told her everything that happened the day before, and I learned a lot.
"Like I told you, Aiden is pretty popular in our school." She winked. "Really popular with the ladies. But he's a total dork."
"Ohmigod I know. He's so awkward, but smooth at the same time I can't describe it." I said.
"I wanna hear the details! Every single last piece I wanna hear it!" She said.
"Again?"
"Yes. I have to process this." She sat cross legged facing me.
"Okay...no details, but, basically, here's what happened: Me and Mark were surfing."
"Check." She said.
"When we gave a break, Aiden showed up and they clashed."
"Check."
"Aiden took me for lunch."
"On a date." She raised her eyebrows.
"No! We most definitely did NOT go on a date! I can't believe---"
"Okay okay! Check."
"Humph. We went for ice cream."
"Check."
"He..kissed me."
Alexis started screaming all over again. "I can't believe school starts in two freaking days-TWO DAYS-and you've got two hunks on your tail! Not to mention you just moved here! What the hell do you use?"
"What? No. I don't use anything. Besides, Mark is just my friend. And Aiden..is complicated." I looked away.
"Alright, whatever you say." She gave me a naughty smile. "Cmon, let's go down to the boardwalk! But no cars!" Alexis got up, adjusting her dark grey shorts and pink tank top. I gave her a look. "What?"
"Nothing." I said.
"I don't usually wear pink, it's just today I--"
"No! It's not that. I know what you're up to." I eyed her.
She smiled guiltily. "What? Me? Never!"
"Yeah yeah. Oh well," I said, getting up and fixing my little striped dress, "I guess we'll just have to find out."
...
"I can't believe this! You're going to fall!" I screamed at Alexis, pedaling my bike down the boardwalk, Alexis on a skateboard. She was holding onto the back of my bike, and was currently teetering, the skateboard threatening to fly out from under her.
"Just keep pedaling we're almost there!" Alexis said. "Okay stop!"
I slowed gently to avoid having Alexis fall, and we both got off our odd method of transportation. "I'll watch the bike. You go." Alexis winked.
"No! He doesn't even know my name yet!" I said.
"Then go tell him your name, crazy!" Alexis pushed me, and I found myself in the familiar little ice cream shop. Ignoring prying eyes, I walked up to the counter, and rang the little bell, my eyes burning into the black t-shirt with its back to me.
"Yes?" Someone turned around. It wasn't Aiden, much to my dismay.
"Hi.." I smiled, noticing the sharp features on this guy, who looked about my age. His hazel eyes had the same warmth as Aiden's. "I'm looking for someone." I said.
"Who?" He asked.
"Umm..Aiden? About this height-" I gestured with my hand "-and piercing green eyes...?"
The guy scoffed. "What a detailed description." He smirked.
"Is he here?" I demanded.
"Yeah. Gimme a sec." The guy disappeared behind a door, and a few minutes later Aiden came out.
"Sprinkles?" He smirked. What is with all these guys and their very attractive smirks?
"Yeah..hey. Can we talk?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"Sure."
I followed him outside. He turned and looked at me, once we were under the beating sun.
"What's up, Sprinkles?" He said casually.
I suddenly lost all courage and felt instantly weak as he leaned forward and those green eyes looked into my soul.
I could see Alexis jumping up and down in the background, waving her arms and holding a thumbs up, but she disappeared into the bushes when Aiden turned around."What are you looking at?" He said, his expression some what amused.
"Nothing...umm...I'm really sorry I have to go." I said, trying to turn on my heel, but failing when he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
"Sprinkles, are you ever going to tell me your name?" He leaned in close. I felt like I could hear Alexis screaming.
What was Aiden's problem? He could not win me over every time with his charming smile and coming close, forcing me to breathe in his incredible scent. He could not just make me hear his ragged breathing and all of a sudden make me be in love with him. But it was working just fine, I tell you. Just. Fine.
"Maybe I will." I said, deciding to step up my game.
"Well then, what is it?" He said, and my blue eyes burned with the amusement of what I was about to do. It was so rash.
I leaned up real close to his face, and planted a soft kiss on his lips, before pulling back and whispering 'Piper' in his ear.
And then I ran away.
