Hey guys, I'm going to try to keep that promise about uploading 3 chapters. I'm trying, okay? Jeez. But it doesn't seem likely, because a pipe exploded in my house and there's so much damage that we have to move out for a few months. And we are packing this weekend. Don't hate me please.

ENJOY THE CHAPTER.

"Alexis!" I grabbed her arm. She turned to me.

"Where were you after the bell?" She demanded. I raised my eyebrows.

"I forgot I swear." I said.

"Okay well coach wants to meet you. So hustle." She pushed me over to a lady with honey colored hair, pulled up into a tight ponytail, with tanned skin and warm brown eyes.

"Hi! You must be Piper?" She asked. I nodded. "Welcome to SouthBeach!"

"Thank you." I smiled at her.

"Here's your medical consent forms, your uniform size form, your parental consent form, your teacher consent form, and your school grades consent form." She shuffled all the papers and handed them to me in packet-form. I nodded, putting the papers into my bag.

The coach turned away from me. "Alright girls, everyone on the bleachers, line it up for tryouts. One girl at a time on the field!" She ordered. All the girls scattered into position, and the first girl to step out on the field was of course, none other than Kim. She beamed at all of us, and proceeded to speak in her shrill voice.

"I've been on this team since Freshman year! And this year, I'm in it for the being Captain." Kim started her routine, doing cartwheels and chanting: "Sharks, Sharks, South Beach Park! They'll be sure to leave a mark!"

Her routine was okay, I guess. But who was I to judge? A couple of other girls went and one ended up leaving, because she was crying so hard. Veronica and Stacey both performed really well, and Alexis was spectacular. I was the last one to go.

Now, you might think one of two things:
1) I either tripped and went flying and embarrassed myself to the end of eternity.
Or
2) I did so well that I made Kim cry, got Aiden, and became the head honcho of the school.
Both conclusions are wrong. Like, really wrong.

I flipped twice before spiraling and landing on my feet, and I clapped. I chanted the words everyone did, and did a few cartwheels, before landing in a completely unintentional split. I almost screamed in pain but held it when the coach started clapping.

I fell over and wobbled up, and Alexis ran over to me. "That was so good!" She hissed. The coach was writing some things.

"Girls!" She called ten minutes later. Everyone gathered. "I'll be calling out positions in a few minutes."

Everyone chattered excitedly and two girls got into a verbal argument over who was better. "GIRLS! LISTEN UP!" The coach called in her loudest I-used-to-be-a-cheerleader voice. The girls quieted, and Veronica stopped telling us about her brother's mole that was shaped like Abraham Lincoln. "I am only announcing the top three positions, Captain, Co-Captain, and Lead. The lead is...", everyone held their breath, "Veronica Greene."

Veronica let out an excited squeak and scurried to sign the papers before running back and hugging all of us. The tensions only increased for the next two positions.

"I'm hoping to keep my position as co-captain this year too." Alexis whispered to me.

"Why not captain?" I asked.

"I don't know; the captain graduated last year. I don't know what to say." She whispered back.

"The position of Co-Captain is...Piper Delaine." My eyes widened in horror as Alexis narrowed hers at me in disgust and betrayal.

I walked over and signed the paper. Alexis can't scare me. My eyes darted over to the coach's paper to see who was Captain. I snorted when I saw the name.

As I was walking back over to Alexis, the coach announced the captain.

"Alexis, honey you're captain."

Alexis rounded on the coach. "What?!" She ran with incredible speed to the coach and within 2.7 seconds her name was scrawled across the captain margin of the page.

I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes playfully as she bounced over to me.

"I am SO sorry." She rushed.

"Save it, it's okay." I motioned to her and we hugged.

"Ugh we just met and you already put up with my bullshit." Alexis faked wiping a tear.

I laughed and shoved her. "Shut up."

"Alright girls, that's it for today, everyone meet up tomorrow first period to pick up all your uniforms and team necessities." The coach announced.

Most of the girls walked off, some upset, others happy they simply made the team. Oh, I forgot. Kim. She was furious. It was hilarious. At the end of the meet, she threw a fit. A literal bitch fit.

"DONT TOUCH ME." She roared to a short brunette. The girl cringed and backed away.

"What a bitch." Stacey commented as we all walked towards the parking lot.

"She's always been like that." Alexis added.

"Oh my god..look at her butt." Stacey said. We all looked at her, because we were the only ones around. "Jk, look at their butts." She pointed to where the footballs players were working their asses off. Haha. I'm funny.

True to Stacey's words, the football players were running around, cleaning up cones and things.

"Wow, they wear football pants to the tryouts?" Veronica asked.

"Their tryouts are like practice." Stacey said.

I noticed Alexis was relatively quiet through this conversation. I turned to find her staring out at the field, her eyes trained on one figure. Following her gaze, I homed in on the person.

"Ooh. You're staring at ERIC." I poked her.

"Shut up. No I'm not."

I laughed and hip-bumped her.

"Are you ladies going to keep staring at our sexiness or do we need to take a picture?" Aiden walked up to us, towel around his neck.

"Huh, yeah, okay." I snorted.

"C'mon Delaine, let me take a picture with you." Aiden opened his arms, wiggling his eyebrows.

"No." I backed away. "I don't have a thing for sweaty guys."

"So you'd have a thing for me if I take a shower?" He smirked.

I think I was going to smack him. The confident monster in my deep black soul rose up. "How about you take a shower? The flies are dropping."

"Jeez." Aiden backed away, laughing, and joined the other football players on their way to the locker rooms.

After parting with the girls, I got into my car and drove home. What a long first day of school.

Okay, that's it for the first day of school. It's down hill from here!
