Hey guys...so, recently my grandmother passed away. We rushed to my country, so now I'm sitting here writing to get my mind off of things. I'll be here for a week. I've been reading and writing and doing things to distract myself. It's really hard to see every corner of the house with little memories of her, to see my grandpa cry. I wrote about how Piper's grandfather died, but now that I've experienced my grandmother's passing, it's so much worse. But in the mean time, I hope you all enjoy the chapter. The banner is Pipers outfit as described in the chapter. Vote, comment, follow.

I rolled over and looked at the time.

11:37 AM

I managed to force myself out of bed and step into the shower, blasting up some good old Lana Del Rey.

As soon as I was done with my cleaning necessities, I stood in my closet trying to pick what to wear, staring at the racks on all four walls. When did I acquire this much clothing? How did I fit it all into the small one door closet back home? Back in the old 'home'.

Was it supposed to be formal? Was it something in a park? Maybe a picnic. Alexis has said there was going to be food..but...

I whipped out my handy dandy cell phone. After two rings, she picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Alexis. It's me Piper."

"OHHH! Piper! Yeah? What's up?"

"Umm..I was kind of wondering what to wear..I know it sounds stupid, but..." I played with a strand of my hair, as I always did while on the phone.

"Don't be silly! We're meeting at a cafe, and after that everyone splits up really." She explained. "If you want to come, the girls and I are going to the mall afterwards, so dress however you want."

"Thanks. See you later!"

"Bye!" I closed the phone and found my self on the arm chair, upside down-ish.

I sighed and got up, turning back to my closet. Cafe and mall had to be casual, but I wanted to make a good first impression on the people I would meet. After tossing things around for what seemed like forever, I checked the time and decided on a nice printed skirt from Hollister, and wore a lace halter top. I looked back in the mirror. Too much. Taking off the lace, I put on a plain white tee shirt. It gave the look a certain elegance, yet messy-cool flare in my opinion.

Pairing it with brown gladiators and a matching bag, I accessorized, did my hair, and snapped a Polaroid picture before checking the time again. 12:39. I should probably get going.

I quickly taped the picture to my wall and rushed down the stairs.

"No breakfast?" Joanna, our cook, called out.

"No thank you!" I called back, grabbing my keys and running out the front door. I followed my GPS to the little cafe, which actually wasn't that far, and parked my car.

On the short walk to the cafe from my car, I ran my hands through my hair and gave myself a small pep talk. Opening the door, I immediately noticed the cafe was not that crowded, save for the numerous people my age sitting in the back. I spotted Alexis and she waved me over.

"Hey!" She stood up and hugged me. "Guys, this is Piper, she just moved here, and she's our age."

"Hey." Everyone greeted me, and as I looked at all the smiling faces, I couldn't help but to smile back.

"Piper, this is Matthew, everyone calls him Matt. This is Isaac, Mark, Veronica, and Stacey." She gestured to everyone.

Matt had dark brown hair and brown eyes, with glasses pushed up his nose and a laptop on the table in front of him. He took off his clunky hipster glasses and pushed his hair out of his face, smiling at me. He was attractive, but not my type. Hell, I don't even think I have a type.
