An Ace among Kings and Queens

The Four

Ace's Point of View.

Woah, woah, woah.

They're the kings and queens of old?!

High King Peter was the one getting beaten back in London?

Really?

I need to tell him.

And mock him.

Okay, that's not really necessary, but I would definitely enjoy it.

Nonetheless, I need to tell them.

I mean I should.

But maybe not yet...

I don't know them well enough.

My train of thought fades as the older girl approaches me.

Oh, I know who this is.

"Susan," she says.

She has bright, cold blue eyes and rosy cheeks. 'Fairest in the land,' just like Snow White. 

"Ace," I respond while shaking her hand.

She nods and walks over to Trumpkin.

She seems nice.

The younger girl then comes over. She has warm, ocean blue eyes and light freckles. She seems sweet, but nervous, so I smile and extend my hand.

"Hi," I say kindly. "My name's Ace."

The girl immediately perks up.

"It's nice to meet you! I'm Lucy."

Oh my Aslan, she's adorable. It's like she's walking on sunshine. 

From the corner of my eye, I see the brown-haired boy trying to hide a smile.

That must be Edmund.

Once Lucy moves on to Trumpkin, he steps towards me.

His hair is dark brown, short, and messy. His sleeves are rolled up and just from his arms alone, I can tell he's rather muscular. And I was right to think he's tall. Good lord. He's only a few inches taller than me, but I still have to lift my head to look at him. Up close, I can tell he has light freckles, just like Lucy. Unlike his siblings, however, his eyes are a deep chocolate brown. 

Wow, he's handsome. 

"Edmund," he says as he extends his hand, "It's nice to meet you."

"Ace," I reply as I take his hand. "And you as well."

Great job, Ace. You managed to introduce yourself to a cute boy. 

After a few seconds, we break our handshake and I look back around. I make eye contact with Trumpkin and he raises an eyebrow. 

"Now, I think it's about time we figure out what's really going on," Peter declares.
