Derrick woke up after a long sleepiness night. He rolled out of bed and walked restlessly to his bathroom across the hall. He splashed water on his face before looking into his red eyes in his mirror. Why doesn't she want me? Am I not enough? He said to himself as he stared at his weak reflection.

He stood and just stared at him reflection for a bit till he heard a door opening. He walked out of the bathroom and saw his older brother Jerel coming home from work. He went over and took the groceries out of his hand setting them on the table.

"How am I the one working but you look more tired,"  his brother teases messing up his hair. Derrick jerked his head back and laughed at his brother. "Just have a lot going on," he muttered going through the bags for anything the interested him. "Is it a girl?" he asked nochantly. Derrick nodded and began putting the stuff away.

"You wanna talk about it little bro?" he offered. Derrick shook his head his soft curls flying every which way. "This shit is just so confusing, like I don't even know anymore man," he huffed recalling the conversation he'd had with Tay earlier that day. "What happened?" Jerel asked. "Okay so theres this girl. And I like her and she really like me or at least I thought she did. But today one of my old homies came up to me with some bullshit about her and I don't wanna believe it but it kinda sound true as fuck," he let out a breath after his rant running his hands down his face. Jerel was speechless for a moment. "

"She sound like a damn thot bruh," he said patting his brothers shoulders. "There's one thing you gotta know about females these days. They think just like we do. She prolly just wanted the D and now she done. I suggest you get you another hoe cause everybody know these hoes ain't loyal." He stopped talking and looked into his brothers eyes. "You ain't sprung are you?" Derrick shook his head reluctantly. "Ight fam, I'm going to bed See ya in the morning," they fist bumped and Jerel walked into his room.

Derrick sat at their kitchen counter thinking of the picture Thomas had shown him. His eyes were enraged with anger once again. He glared at the wall in front of him and mentally singed a whole in it. He suddenly heard a small ringing. He looked around until he saw his phone lighting up and buzzing on the table.

Derrick quickly got it from his seat and rushed to his phone side recognizing the special ringtone. He listened to his iPhone in hand is the collage of pictures he made of her played on the screen. She sighed deeply before swiping his finger along the answer button.

" Hey baby," Darcie's squealed through the speakers of his phone into his ear. "hey." he muttered back. " honestly thought you'd be asleep,"

" then why did you call then?" Derrick snapped feeling a pang of anger run through him. "I was bored and was just kind of hoping that you'd still be awake" Derrick chuckled dryly. "So I'm just your boredom filler?" Darcie's contagious laugh caused him to laugh to.

No matter how hard you try to fight it Darcie always brought out the best in him. He suddenly found him self smiling. For no apparent reason.

She started talking but he mostly zoned her out offering a "mhm" or "cool" in return.

"Darcie do you have something to tell me," Derrick asked out of nowhere in the middle of her conversation about Sky's surprise visit. Darcie laughed, "What do you mean," Derrick sighed sitting up in his bed. "Is there something you would like to tell me?" he repeated. Darcie was silent on the line. "You know involving us and other people?" Darcie again fell silent over the line. "N-no w-why?" She asked. He couldn't know. He shouldn't know. "You know you don't ever have to lie to me. I promise I'll understand," he said reassuringly. "Are you accusing me of something?" Darcie said turning the tables on him. Derrick quickly said"Nahh just wondering," Darcie sighed quietly on the phone. "The only thing that I do have to tell you is I love you and that's all that matters,"
