"Bella..." The faint sound of someone's voice awakens my senses. A hand is pressed on my side rubbing up and down my waist. Their presence was calming and serene. I open my eyes to meet Damiens blue ones, the room is lit with sunlight beaming through the cracks of the curtains. I groan as I stretch out my muscles letting them release any tension."Good morning" my voice is raspy as I sit up and stretch my arms out. Pfft... the sound of Damiens light laughter confuses me. "What's so funny?" I glare at him only to be met with the flash of his camera. My eyes widen as I try to swipe the phone from him. "Why are you being so annoying!" I crawl over to him as he holds me back with his forearm. His laugh fills the room as I struggle to grab the device in his hands.
He Flips the phone around and I'm faced with the unruly mess that is my hair. Tangles everywhere. Goddamn...
I throw my pillow at him as I rush to get to the bathroom. It takes a couple of stumbles but I finally make it. His chuckles are muffled by the door as I slam it shut. I look into the mirror to see my rosie nose and cheeks.I exit the bathroom with my hair in a neat loose bun that lays promptly on my head. Damien was gone the only trace left from him was the messy bed sheets. I head to the closet and change into a decently warm outfit. It consisted of a oversized baby pink sweater and a pair of black leggings. The temp had dropped in the night and some light snow was falling. I exit our bedroom to be met with the cold and dreary hallways. You would have thought this place was abandoned. It was dim with the curtains blocking most of the light from entering the hall. My feet where shielded from the cold by my adorable fluffy cat socks.
I make my way to the kitchen to be met with people bussing about. I stood their awkwardly as people walked in and out of the kitchen. No one noticed me, so instead of taking up more room I decided to wonder around. My hand travels on the walls as I mindlessly adventure. The scent of pine and burning wood fills the surrounding area as I walk past two large doors. this peeks my curiosity so I decide to check it out, I turn the doorknob and open the burgundy door. I peak my head through the crack to be met with a huge library. I was astonished at the sight, It looked like something out of beauty and the beast.
Without thinking I push through the the doors. A beautiful grand fire place lights the room up with a romantic light. Then I saw something I wasn't expecting. Sitting at a table was Damien typing away on his laptop. He had a pair of glasses sitting on the bridge of his nose and freshly showered hair siting on top of his head. His sleeves to his cotton long-sleeved v-neck where pulled up to his elbows. He hadn't noticed my presence just yet, or so I thought.
"Your so shit at being stealthy you know" I jumped at his words. His eyes were now locked on me as a hid in the darkness casted on the entrance. "And your shit at being attentive" the snarky remark exits my mouth before I could stop myself. He raises an eyebrow and gives me a smirk. He leans back in his chair keeping eye contact with me. "How so?" He gives me his signature toothy smirk.
I walk out from the shadows and make my way over to him. His eyes follow my every move, I stop in front of him and sit right down onto his lap. I hear his breathe hitch as I snuggle into the warmth of his chest. I wrap my arms around his neck and snuggle my face into the crook of his neck. "Its freezing in this place you know" I whisper against his skin as I breathe in the fresh scent of his body wash mixed with pine. I feel him relax as he leans into me and rests his chin on my shoulder. He lets as hand wonder up and down my back finally meeting my hip and thigh.
he sighs as he places his glasses onto the table. I could tell he was stressed out. For what, probably everything. Ive never met someone so resilient and focused. He worked and worked even when he had time off. My hands met his neck massaging any tension it held, he visibly relaxed over the release. "You wanna to talk about anything" I slowly spoke unsure of what would unfold, another breakdown or fight. He lets out a gruff sigh not showing any signs of talking. I wasn't surprised by his reaction but I wasn't going to pressure him into talking.
"That's okay, why don't you take a break and come get some fresh air instead of being locked up inside this dreary place" I slip of his lap as I shut the laptop and hold out my hand for him. He wraps his large hand around mine as I pull him up. His height has always been so impressive, he loomed over my petite form. His height was paired with broad shoulders and equally toned arms. We both walk out hand in hand into the same depressing halls I was in earlier.
"Nice socks" he chuckles as he leans closer into me and wraps a hand around my waist. I couldn't help but agree with him, my socks were quite fabulous if I do say so myself. Not only did they keep my feet warm they held the face of god greatest gifts, cats! "Sir...you cant judge them unless you have tried them. They're quite...hm whats the word...oh absolutely splendid" the words that left my mouth held so much passion I could have shed a tear. "Your nuts you know" He pushes past me as we get to our room. He opens the door for me to enter "Well whats so great about being sane, everyone is a little crazy" I tap his temple as I enter the room.
By now the bed had been made and a pair of new silk pjs laid neatly across it. I head to the closet and grab a pair of boots with a Burberry jacket and scarf. I also grabbed Damiens boots that must have been moved in and threw it at him. I did the same with his jacket and scarf that left him scrambling to grab the shoe that had flown across the room.
My boots met the soft snow that was still coming down. I loved the snow it was so beautiful and serene. I feel a large arm wrap around me as it pulled me against the culprit. A very bundled up Damien smirked down at me as I gave him a questioning look. "There is a path way down this way that we can follow." He points down a shoveled path that would soon be covered again. The trees created a canopy over the pathways giving it a ethereal winter fantasy forest feel.
We both walked in a comfortable silence as we let the crisp air fill our senses. Eventually the path lead to a cute cottage within the thick of the woods. "I thought you would like this more then the cabin. This is where my mom used to stay whenever we came here, my dad used to hate it. He had built the cabin so we could stay down here but we ended up always staying here instead." his eyes where filled with warmth as he looked at the quaint and adorable english inspired cottage. He was definitely correct when it came to me liking it. I always hated the large house my family had because they had no character. They where just...Big. Cottages held so much warmth, love, and tenderness. Cottages never looked the same they where unique and homey.
He opened the door to reveal a fireplace lit living space with an adorable quaint kitchen. "Its beautiful Damien." My hand travels over the Antiques and furniture. I take off any outdoor attire and head towards the couch where I meet Damien by snuggling up to his side. The crackling of the fire and the wind bring a sense of serenity that washes over me.
Thank you Damien for guiding me through this unexpectedly beautiful life we are building for one another.
I hope you enjoyed- Bella💕
