We had been driving through windy roads for about an hour. The car was filled with a deathly silence as goosebumps rose on my skin. The city lights began to dim as we exited on to the freeway. The light hum of the car lulled the tension slightly as I sunk down in my seat. I sigh as I turn to look out the window. Our destination Augusta Maine, I remember going up to Maine all the time as a kid. We would go stay up in the lodge we had in the serene thick forests. I didn't question our reasoning for why we where leaving but I had an Idea, and that idea pointed straight at Dimitri. We wouldn't arrive till about 1:30 am, I was shocked when Damien told me we where driving. So here I am sitting in a car with nothing but silence filling it and the annoying sounds of the busy roads.

Soon enough night falls and so does the city as we enter the backroads. I had taken a few peaks at Damien and he looked tense. He had one hand on the wheel and one gripping onto the center console. His knuckles where white from the amount of force he was applying. To be honest I'd be lying if I didn't say he look gorgeous. The veins on his arm prominent against his creamy skin, his hair falling into his eyes, and jaw tight. I jump a little as he turns to me. My eyes widen as I realized I had just been caught checking him out. My whole body heats up with embarrassment. I Turn my head back to focus on the dark road in front of us.

"It's okay to look you know, I like it" His words are like a burn agains my skin, his laugh doesn't go unnoticed either. Fuck you I whisper under my breath. "Yeah I bet you'd like that wouldn't you my dear fiancé" he says as he grabs a strand of my hair and plays with it. Then an Idea pops into my head. I sit straight up and open my jacket and then I start to pull my shirt up. The car shrieks as it moves off the side of the road, I turn to him and his face is price less. Shock and confusion all in one "What I'm hot" I say innocently looking at the man in front of me. His eyes widen at the assumption he had just made. I cant help the giggle that escapes my lips.

"You lying brat" realization hits him as I start to laugh. Finally the once awkward car is filled with laughter, I take this as my cue to turn the radio on. The mood becomes lighter as the music begins to play. I sway back and fourth in my seat letting the rhythm flow through me. Damien then lowers the windows letting the crisp fall night air fill the car. The new found smell of pine hits me indicating we weren't in New York City anymore. I close my eyes taking in my environment, I subconsciously smile at how I feel. A very familiar warmth fills me, I'd been longing for this warmth for the past year. I felt like I was at home.

The hours passed with such ease. We had talked a little bit but other than that the ride was filled with a comfortable silence. I snuggled into the seat trying to get comfortable. I had grabbed one of the throw blankets I had put in the car and wrapped it around me. Soft independent music was playing and the windows where now rolled back up. It had to be about 12:00 by now, we where traveling on a road with only forest. If I wasn't with Damien I would not be driving down this road. Don't get me wrong I am a good driver but I hated driving at night,  also It was quite terrifying. I let the serene environment wash over me as my eyes close. I don't wait a second more to fall into a peaceful darkness.

I woke up to the feeling of someone lightly shaking me "Bella..." their voice is hushed and soft. my eyes flutter open to be met with Damiens blue ones. "Are we here" my voice is filled with drowsiness. I f look out the window to see the pitch black sky and a huge lodge that was lit up like a Christmas tree. I shut my eyes blinded by the new found light. "Yep,come on there's a freshly made bed waiting for you." His words where like heaven. A fresh bed is what I needed right now. I stretch my legs out and open the door to be hit with a frigid breeze.

Goosebumps rise on my skin as my feet meet the gravel. I pull my jacket and blanket over me to protect myself from the harsh weather. I go to grab my bags but Damien stops me. "The staff will take care of it" as if on cue a man in a suit grabbed our bags. The man was huge I would say about 6'3 and wracked with huge muscles. These staff where nothing like Maria and the rest, they seemed deadly. "Thank you" I  thank the man only to get a curt nod in return. I follow Damien as we make our way to the front of the lodge. Standing there are two men just as lean as the first standing at attention at the front doors.
