Chapter Sixty-five: "Dancing with the devil"

I made everyone get in their places, clapping my hand strictly like my mother used to.

I didn't like how mean and bossy I was being because that's not my but I can get like that when I'm serious about stuff.

"She'll be here any second, shut the fuck up!" I roared at some more obnoxious attendees, tying my curls up. I did my hair, makeup, and all but I started drinking so I was getting hot, not to mention all the running around.
But alas, the club was packed and decorated to my standards, there was no way Cassie would be disappointed!

Noah, in his SWAT costume, found me and walked by my side. His costume was complete with a tight navy shirt that strained against his swollen arms. He wore that under a bulletproof vest, black pants, a black hat, pair of all black Nike Air Vapormax Plus, knee pads, and gauntlets. I was happy to have him on my arm, he really did look like security - I know I sure felt safer.

"The place looks great, B, you did good," he told me.

"I know, now shh!" I hushed him, peeking through a window that we could see out of but no one outside could see in.

My phone lit up in my hand, it was a text from Gael that read:

We're coming now

I hurriedly flicked the rest of the lights off and got down, signaling the crowd to do the same. Noah and I, in the VIP booth, sat there patiently.

It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. . .

The wait was over, Cassie and Gael entered.

"SURPRISE!" Every voice in the place shouted. Confetti was thrown and balloons were released. The security guard of Galactica powered everything back on, cuing the DJ to resume the music.

Andre, the DJ, was from The Playroom and now worked at Galactica with Venus and Paris. I saw him setting up earlier and thought it was a strange coincidence so I asked him why he traded and he just said they paid better. I couldn't argue with that so I left it alone, perhaps that's Paris's reason, too?

I sprung up with excitement, seeing Cassie lit up. She was not expecting this at all so I knew we did a good job.
Venus, Paris, and the other girls in bunny costumes escorted Cassie and Gael to our section. Noah peeled back the velvet rope and let our girl inside.

We took turns embracing her and saying happy birthday, Ned first. He smiled and met her with the first shot of the night. She downed it like a champ and shook it off, thanking him so she could move onto Daniel who was in full drag: heels, big hair, stacked lashes, a full beat, and a bodysuit. He looked stunning, per usual, and made me proud, I couldn't wait to see him perform!
Meanwhile, Ned dressed up as Alan (Zach Galifianakis) from The Hangover, and Gael wore the boxing costume like he told me he would.
