02: prom planning

to say the least, I will not be surprised if I see a big red F on that quiz when I get it back. Pretty sure Sunoo is feeling the same way.

"well that... sucked." said Sunoo.

"couldnt have said it better." I replied with a sigh. "see you at lunch then?"

"you bet."

and with that, he was off.

I had chem next. One of my favorite classes, but not the easiest. I wasn't really feeling like doing all that work today, but I had no choice.

——— time skip: lunch ————

the last 4 periods went by like a breeze. probably cuz I slept through most of them.

I grabbed my lunch and made my way to the table, waiting for my friends to join me. They slowly appeared one by one. Jieun, Sunoo, Jay, and Jungwon.

"soooooo how's the new year going for the juniors?" Jay asked.

"terrible" Sunoo and I said in unison.
"not bad" Jieun said.

"I wouldn't expect a different response. how's it going for you wonnie?" Jay asked.

jungwon was too absorbed in his curry to care about school. honesty, if he could marry curry, he probably would.

"...."

"wonnie?" Jay asked again.

"sorry. I was eating. sophomore year is going alright." Jungwon said finally.

"good to hear." replied Jay.

"how's senior year going for you Jay? you got a girl yet?" asked Jieun.

jay looked away in shame.

"I got in trouble in fourth period and have detention after school. it's not going well. and no, I haven't gotten a girl yet." and with that, Jay left the table for more food.

"someone's in a mood." I said.

"I CAN STILL HEAR YOU!!" hollered Jay.

"my bad princess. did I hurt your feelings?" I shouted back.

"SHUT UP YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Jay screamed back.

the cafeteria lady didn't like that one. she went over and scolded him for "inappropriate language and behavior"

the table burst out into laughter. jay is so easy to piss off that it's funny.
the good times didn't last long though. it was time for the last 3 periods of the day.

Jieun and I made our way to our next class when the PA started buzzing.

"if you are a member of the senior class or the prom planning committee, please head to the gymnasium now to discuss this years' prom. I repeat, if you are a member of the senior class or the prom planning committee, head to the gymnasium now."

"sounds like they need me." Jieun said.

"yep. see ya later." I replied.
great. now the only other class I had with my best friend had been cancelled. guess I'll sleep through the next 3 periods then.

————— time skip: the end of the day —————

"so, howd it go?!" I asked Jieun whilst putting my books in my locker.

"good. we've officially decided on a theme for this prom! one that's never been done here before." she replied.

"and that would be..?" I asked, genuinely curious now.

she pulled me over and whispered in my ear "a masquerade ball!"
