Goodbye and Hello

DESCRIPTION BELOW:

I wanted to take a whirl at writing the part of the show that could've happened, that luckily never did. It takes place at the end of the last episode of season three, where instead of
Toby staying back, Claire would. I know Claire would most likely never have Jim leave without her, but I wanted to write something where it could've.

I haven't written any sad ones like this, and I wanted to try it out with this one. I definitely know I wouldn't have been able to survive the tears if Claire stayed back, but then again I think most of the fandom cried in the scene when Toby stayed behind😭
I kinda wished they all went together, but then again, no one from the trollhunters team would've been involved in the Akiridion events in Arcadia.

I am gonna add a time jump for an after wizards reunion close to the end of this though. The thing I'm changing in this related to wizards, is that Claire doesn't travel back in time with Jim, and they end up really seeing each other after he gets back into the present. I'll mention that though in this.

Third Person POV:

Jim, Blinky and Barbara turned around hearing a yell from a familiar voice.

Hey! Wait for me!" Toby yelled as he finally caught up with Jim. He stopped and bent over grabbing his knees to catch his breath.

"Boy these goodbyes are tough! Said goodbye to nana, Mr. Meow Meow P.I., Darci, but I think I'm ready to go now" Toby said straightening his back after finally catching his breath.

Jim gasped, remembering the one person who wasn't here yet.

"Claire..." he whispered to himself.

She was still talking with her parents the last time he saw her, or went home probably by now to do, or get something.

Toby's smile he wore began to fade as he saw his best friends face drop and asked "...Wait...she- she's coming with us right?".

Jim, Toby, Blinky and Barbara all turned around from facing each other after hearing light footsteps heading towards them.
They all saw Claire walking alone to them.
Jim face lit up. She was still in her armour, and Jim still couldn't believe how amazing the Armor looked on her. He knew it would the second he saw it. But the still amazement in his eyes faded as he saw her smile, coming towards him and he knew what he had to tell her. Arcadia couldn't be left unprotected with the dangers that come around everyday. Even with the eternal night over, that didn't mean no danger would never come back to Arcadia again.

Claire stepped forward, placing a hand on Jim's chest.

"Claire..." Jim said lifting his hand up to squeeze hers on his chest, gently, but with sadness in his eyes.

"I can't ask you to come. It's too much. You'd be leaving all your friends, family, everyone and everything back here".

"Hey hey, we'd be back eventually. I got a decent data plan, and besides...I Couldn't leave you".

Jim's heart started aching at her wording, feeling more and more guilty with what he didn't wanna say.

"Claire...someone needs to stay behind. And keep Arcadia safe while I'm gone".

"Wha...what are you saying?" She said as her heart felt like strings were beginning to detached.

He turned to the others with a sympathetic look.

"Can I have a minute?" He asked as the others nodded their head. "Thanks" he said to them as the couple walked to a space just a few seconds away, where they'd have enough space to talk.
