Claire's Seventeenth

Hey guys!

I've always wanted to do my own thoughts on how Claire's birthday could go for her seventeenth, and since my birthdays today, I really wanted to do it now!

Just treating myself with a fun little birthday one- shot, to one of my absolute favourite Tales of Arcadia characters:)

But I'm really looking forward to this, and I'm hoping you guys are too.

Claire's POV:

This is it.

Tomorrow's my seventeenth birthday.

I'm lucky we got home from New Jersey and ended all that arcane order stuff (for now at least) a few weeks ago, cause I get to be with all my friends and family on my birthday now! Rebuilding the trollmarket here has definitely been taking a lot of time, but Jim told Blinky just yesterday he didn't want me working on it tomorrow. I really don't mind helping, I'd rather help if they need literally any whatsoever.

Five minutes later, I was reading a book, laying on my bed with a candle lit on my nightstand and heard a text go off on my phone next to me. I picked it up, and it said it was Jim.

Jim: hey!

Claire: hi! What's going on?

Jim: not too much. I can't talk long, But I did wanna let you know something about for tomorrow.

Claire: what is it?

Jim: around noon tomorrow, I'm gonna take you out for a little bit, I can pick you up if you want. Don't worry, I'll have you home before supper.

Claire: ok, sure! Do my parents know? Or do you want me to ask?

Jim: no no, don't worry, they know. I talked to them a few days ago about it.

Claire: wow...I'm kinda shocked.

Jim: haha yes, yes, I know. We've been getting along better since we got home.

Claire: yeah that's true. That really makes me happy.

Jim: I know! Me too!

Claire: calm down Jim lol

Jim: sorry. Just in a good mood cause I'm excited to spend your birthday with you.

Claire: yeah, me too, you have No idea.

Jim: oh, sorry, I gotta go. Mom and Strickler are coming to the table for supper, I just finished making it. I'll see you tomorrow at noon?

Claire: yeah, sounds good!

Jim: ok. I love you

Claire: I love you too

Jim & Claire: bye<3

As soon as I put my phone down and head to the kitchen downstairs for dinner myself, I was thinking about what Jim said. I've never been one to really go nuts when it's my birthday, wanting everything to be about me, I'd just rather be with the people I care about most. But when Jim said he was excited to spend time with me on my birthday, I realized this is the first birthday out of either of us we're spending together, well...together. It feels like we've been dating for so much longer, but this is the first time either of us is having a birthday when we're a couple. I don't know why, but that excites me more than I thought it would.

After supper, I spent my time watching a movie, eating some popcorn, texting some friends, and seeing my parents have these random private conversations. I don't know if I should be suspicious or not.
