5. In the name of the crown

Lucien's coronation day is coming near, so all of his family came to the palace. I got to meet the current queen and king. They were vise rulers. And I'm sure Lucien will be great too.

All of my days were the same, planing the wedding, picking flowers, dress fiting. Will I have to be like this my whole life? Sit, look pretty, smile, produce an heir and please my husband? Do I really want this life? I am a well educated woman and all my knowladge will just go to waste to just be a good wife and mother to my children. Sometimes, I want to run away, and never come back. But I can't put such a shame on my mother and her reputation. She is happy for me, and I should be happy too.

The day of the coronation has aproached. My gown looked like I will be coronated with Lucien aswell. It was really formal and beautiful with a long trail in the back. I got to stand next to the royal family, since I will be a part of it soon. Lucien looked serious, like a true ruler. He looked ready to take over his parents place.. with no queen indeed. The ball after the ceremony was like usual. I danced with the prince, Lucien danced with other women. I got outside to the gardens for some fresh air and time alone. But it seemed so, that I get followed everywhere I go.

- Do you have a hobby hiding somewhere during the balls? - Lucien smirked.

- Do you have a tendency of followong me everywhere I go? - I snapped back.

He his mouth opened, but then closed and he stayed silent for a moment.

- I want to show you something. Come with me.

I don't know why, but I took his hand immediately. I did not question.

He took me to a hidden place. It was not that far away from the palace, but indeed very well hidden. It was beautiful. The place was like another world. The flowers were blooming, there was quite huge waterfall that came into a small lake. By the lake, there was a bench, I guess the new king build it himself. I was amazed.

- I found this place when my brother would piss me off and my father would beat me up, for skipping my training. It was my shelter for my thoughts ever since. And now.. it's your's also. Come here whenever you need time alone. The waterfall really calms you down.

- This is beautiful, your majesty. I'm lost for words. How can I repay you for showing me this place?

- A dance?

I gigled and said:

- But my king, there is no music!

He took my waist and my hand. He pulled me towards him and started humming. His voice was deep, but so sweet, that it made the melody the most beautiful thing I ever heard. I felt safe in his embrace, he twirled me around and swept me of my feet twirling me around in his arms once again. My heart was racing. The stars and the were shinning bright that night, creating a spotlight for our little dance.

The next morning I woke up calm and peaceful until a maid knocked on my door.

- Lady Levina, we will have visitors soon, you have to get ready.

- What visitors?

- Princess of Italy, her hand will be offered to king Lucien.

My heart stopped for a second.

- Give me 20 minutes, I will be down in the moment.

- Yes, your grace.

The maid left me alone, and I felt suffocating. I got ready, showered, putted on ocean blue gown and made my way downstairs. The princess was already there. The king was kissing her hand. I didin't realize how long I stared at them until my fiance came up to me and took me by my waist.

- Is everything okay, my dear?

- Yes, I just don't feel well today.

- Oh, well then you should rest today.

- Of course, but I want to meet the princess first.

- As you wish. - he said.

He walked me to the princess and the king. They both were chating and laughing.

- Princess Maeve. I'd like to pressent my fiance, Levina.

I kneeled.
- My pleasure to meet you, princess.

- Nice to meet you too, Levina.

- Levina is not feeling well today, I shall take her to her room, if you excuse us. - said the prince.

- Oh, what a shame, I hope we will see each other soon, Levina.

I nooded. The prince took me to my room and wished me to get better. I tried to lay down, walk around the room, write, everything! But I decided to go outside, to the secret place. I did not realize, that I felt asleep on a soft grass there. By the time I woke up it was night time, and Lucien was sitting on the grass near me.
