Becoming Me

First day back

The bell rings as I'm rushing to class late. "Ms.Volvex I'm glad you could make it to class." Mrs.Cleveland said pointing me my way to my seat.I realize I sit next Zach Evarts the hottest guy in 12th grade I've liked him since we were three but things changed he got contacts and clothes that fit and made his way up to popularity leaving me behind but he still sometimes talks to me when he's not with his girlfriend ms.popularity Clarissa Robcut (which is rare). People follow her around like puppies just because her dad came up with the idea of toaster strudels.

"Hey how are you." Zach said pulling me back to reality realizing I'd been standing there for the past minute and a half.

"Umm hi I'm umm just gonna sit down." I said awkwardly and sat my self on the science chair almost falling back realizing there's no back.

"Heh still funny Jade, its been so long since the last time we've talked." Zach said giving that smile that gets me every time we talk, nothing much has changed.

"Ha yeah I guIts you could say that how have you been. You look good still." Did I just say that aww man I'm stupid I just kept smiling so he wouldn't notice I was afraid of his response.

"Wow I don't think I'm the one that looks good you on the other hand look awesome." He said smiling still. I look in shock so I try to cover it by doing a nice hair flip to the back but I end up slapping him in the face with my hand.

"Oh my gosh I am so sorry I didn't mean,-"
"Its fine I'm alright." Zach said cutting me off. Well Jade you really did it this time I said in my head.

Mrs.Cleveland came to where we were sitting. "Is there a problem back here." She said sternly not taking an eye off either of us.

"Umm no Mrs.Cleveland." Zach said so sure of him self. He could tell lies and be able to look them in the eyes , if it was me I would have started crying.

"Okay if there is no problem one of you tell the whole class what safety rule number one two and three is."

"Umm well its umm." I started to studder random words but got cut off, "Its wear goggles and an apron at all times and never run around the class with test tubes or at all, and last but not least be careful when using chemicals so that's why we always were gloves." Zach said smiling back at the teacher then at me with a wink. I was impressed how did he know this did he zone me out and was really paying attention or was he just really good at guessing.

"I had this class last year I just decided to keep my notebook since she does the same thing every year." Zach said with a nice little head nod like he had just read my mind.

The bell had rang and it was time for lunch, six periods had already passed since science and the only thing I could think about was how Clarissa was going to kill me if she ever found out I was talking and having a good time with Zach, up until I slapped him at least. I swear any time I had a chance at succeeding Clarissa was always there to one up me for instance in 9th grade I got 97% on a test then she had to scream she got 98%. I was pulled out of my thinking when my friend Jeremy came and sat down next to me.

"Hey there, how was the first day for you so far mine was fantastic..." I satrted to zone its not that I don't like him he is like my best friend he had short jet black hair with a nice shade of green eyes I met him the year I started dressing normal which was 8th grade but I never think of him more than a friend.

"So Jade how was your day so far have you been zoning off all day?" He said with a kind little chuckle.

I turned to him and said,"well it was better than last years first day." The bell to go home rang Jeremy and I got our stuff and went home together because he literally lives like five house down, and talked about our day and when it came to a stop I got a text from Zach that read:

* First day of school party wanna come???*

I was so excited I practically jumped out of my skin.
