"Bucky..." Cassie mumbled into his chest.
He hummed in response, pulling her head away slightly to look down at her.
"Did you mean it?"
He furrowed his brows, confused on her question, "Mean what?"
"That you loved me." She stated as she looked up at him.
He pulled his hands away from Cassie's face and sat down next to her. He sighed slightly as he placed a hand on her thigh. She tried to ignore the burning sensation she felt in her cheeks at his touch, but she couldn't help it.
"I meant it."
Those three words made her heart beat faster, causing a smile to return to her face. She placed her head on his shoulder as he placed an arm around her, their breaths mixing together.
"I may have accidentally fallen in love with you too."" She spoke quietly, so quietly she wasn't even sure if he had heard it until he let out a breath.
"Accidentally, huh?" He joked as he grabbed her around the waist and pushed her backwards, her back meeting the mattress harshly.
Cassie stared into Bucky's blue eyes, watching as he looked down at her from above. She admired the smile he held on his face, and how she had caused it. She was the reason he was happy in this particular moment. And even if it was just this one moment, it made her life so much better.
"Your smile is particularly large." Bucky said as he brought his nose down to touch hers.
"Well I'm particularly happy."
Bucky's smile grew larger and Cassie was intrigued by him. By everything about him. She pulled her hands up and placed them on the back of his head, running her fingers through his soft hair. With one hand on her cheek, Bucky brought his head down and planted a kiss on the tip of her nose.
"Now sleep." He said as he rolled off from on top of her.
Cassie scoffed at his request and turned her head to look at Bucky who lay on his side, using his arm to keep his head up.
"I know what you're going to say, but I have a theory." He said.
"And what would that theory be?" Cassie questioned with a smile.
"You'll find out, but only if the theory is true."
Cassie rolled her eyes sarcastically as Bucky smirked at her, knowing how much she hated to be kept in the dark. She couldn't help the smile that formed on her lips as Bucky placed an arm around her, pulling her close to his chest.
"Goodnight, doll." He mumbled into her ear.
She pulled away slightly so she had a view of his face and began laughing, "Doll? Is that what you call all of them?"
Bucky placed his hands on her shoulders and she could see the laugh he was trying to contain.
"Just you, Cassie."
"Sappy."
"Hey!"
She shrugged and proceeded to lay back down, letting her eyes close, not expecting to sleep. She was proven wrong when she finally drifted off into a light sleep, and Bucky looked down at the woman he held in his arms. He whispered as quietly as he could to not wake her up;
"Theory proved."
