"You're a grave insomniac, C."

Cassie sat on a small sofa in Nick Fury's office with her head on one arm of the chair and her legs dangling over the other. Her hair had grown a few inches longer since her revival from the ice, and it almost touched the floor with the position of her head. Her sleep had remained unchanged since the 1940's, and with new medical knowledge, she kept on hearing the same word.

"Insomniac?" She questioned in response to the man with the eye patch who sat at his desk.

He glanced at her briefly before eyeing his bookshelf and running his finger over the many books, searching for a specific title. He smiled for a moment before pulling it from the shelf, the two books that had been either side of it falling into each other. He threw it to her without another word as she caught it with both hands, giving him a stern look as it almost hit her face. He stepped closer to the window that he gazed out of, waiting for her to open the book.

She flipped the book over to read the title, the word 'dictionary' larger than the rest. She opened it curiously and with her knowledge of how the book worked, turning to the letter 'i' and ran her fingers down the page, searching for the word she hadn't heard before.

"Hm...insomniac, found it...A person who is regularly unable to sleep." She quoted, tracing the words with her index finger.

Fury eyed her curiously before she placed the book down by the chair leg and leaned back, heaving a sigh and closing her eyes.

"On a scale of 1-10, how perfectly does the describe you?" Fury asked jokingly, understanding her sleep troubles.

"20."

He let a small laugh escape his mouth before he sighed and turned his expression back to serious.

"Secure office." Fury's voice echoed throughout the large room.

The windows blackened and Cassie opened her eyes at the sudden light change and looked over at Fury, bewildered.

"You've gotta give me permission to do that."

"You already have it, dumbass."

"Oh."

Fury proceeded to take out a flash drive and place it in his computer, and Cassie sat up in her chair to watch the projection on the wall. He shot her a look that she recognised to be a 'Tell anyone and you're dead'  look, so she held her hands up in surrender as he turned his attention to the wall.

"Open Lemurian Star's satellite launch file."

"Lemurian Star." Cassie mocked in a french accent, earning a playful glare from Fury which she couldn't help but stifle a giggle at.

"Access denied." Rang out the robotic voice.

This immediately caught Cassie's attention, causing her to furrow her brows.

"Does that usually happen?" She pondered, causing Fury to shake his head. He continued to battle with the computer as Cassie stood up, tucking her hair behind her ears and crossing her arms.

"Director override, Fury, Nicholas J."

"What's the J stand for?" Cassie mocked with a smirk. Fury rolled his eyes before a look of concern spread across his face as Cassie noticed the situation.

"Override denied. All files sealed."

"On whose authority?"

"Fury, Nicholas J."
