"Wow...this bed is comfier than my own."
"It's a prison bed, Cassie."
"I know, I was being sarcastic."
Sam sighed and jokingly shook his head with the hint of a smirk on his face, but it was gone as soon as it had arrived.
Each member of Steve's team had been taken to the prison that was situated in the middle of the ocean, and Cassie's cell was opposite Sam's. She could see Wanda from where she was, seeing how upset she was as she had been put in a straight jacket.
"So...does anyone have any interesting stories they want to share?" Cassie clapped her hands enthusiastically.
"You asked that an hour ago."
"Did I tell the story about Budapest when-"
"Yes you did Clint, when she asked an hour ago."
Cassie laughed softly and slid down the wall of her cell, leaning her head back and sighing. She wondered how Bucky and Steve were doing, whether they were safe or if Tony had already gotten to them. Her thoughts were interrupted as the entrance to the cell room opened, Tony walking in and strolling past all the cells.
"The Futurist, gentlemen! The Futurist is here! He sees all! He knows what's best for you, whether your like it or not." Clint yelled, clapping his hands.
"Give me a break, Barton. I had no idea they'd put you here. Come on."
"Give you a break?" Cassie interrupted as he reached her cell and stopped outside, "You aren't the one in a prison in the middle of the ocean, no, you're bathing in riches. It's not you who needs a break right now, Stark."
Tony was stumped for a moment, for the first time in his life, on what to say.
"They feed you yet?" He asked, ignoring her speech, "Wouldn't want you to starve."
"Oh yeah, the delicious bullshit that's falling from your mouth." She retorted, standing up from the floor.
"Cassie, listen," Tony began, her name feeling foreign in his mouth, "I need to know where Steve and Barnes went."
"You think I'd tell you that?"
He sighed and looked away for a moment before looking back, "I just knocked the 'A' out of their 'AV'. We got about 30 seconds before they realize it's not their equipment."
Cassie furrowed her brows and contemplated her choices as she met his eyes and he continued, "I made a mistake, alright? I was wrong."
"That's a first." She scoffed, leaning against the wall and noticing his unsolvable, almost sad, expression, "I'll tell you... but you have to go alone and as a friend."
"I can't go alone." He sighed, "Because you're coming with me. Barnes trusts you more than me."
Cassie nodded and quickly told him where they were headed. Tony secretly snuck her out and she sent a small smile to Wanda as she left, Wanda returning it the best she could.
**
"Heat sensors say they're in there." Tony said, breaking the silence as they walked down the hallway and pointing to a door. Cassie nodded slowly as he began to open the door with his hands, his suit making it easy to do.
