Still grouped together in Siberia, the group of four were mostly keeping their distance. Cassie thought it was better that way, if they didn't talk there was no chance they could kill each other.
"Did you just look at me funny?"
She regretted her thought as soon as it had come.
"Stark, it's called smiling." Cassie sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.
Tony shrugged and left her alone, leaving her side where they had both originally been sat on a wall outside. Cassie had thought it was better he wasn't around the other two for the time being, so she had distracted him outside in the snow for a while until he had gotten bored and returned back inside.
Cassie was left alone with nothing but the snow and frosty winds, placing her arms around herself to keep warm. A jacket was placed upon her shoulders, causing her to flinch and turn around, met with Bucky who was sitting next to her on the wall.
"It's cold out here." He stated.
"No shit." She answered, memories running through Bucky's head as the phrase left her lips, knowing she had said it multiple times before.
"I thought I was better out here than in there with Stark trying to kill me."
Cassie let out a small laugh as she placed her head upon his chest, hearing his heartbeat next to her ear. He hesitantly held her close, still with the fear of hurting her. He finally had the courage to ask the question he wanted to ask, but had been too scared of the answer in case the answer was one he feared to be true.
"Is it all my fault?"
Cassie sighed as she brought herself away from his body and turned, bringing one leg over the wall so she could face him.
"We live in a world where the people name us heroes or villains, bad guys and good guys." She explained, "But it's not that simple. Sometimes there's a distinct line between good and evil, sometimes there isn't."
Bucky looked at her longingly, stumped on what to say, but she continued before he could find his voice.
"And I know there is no evil within you."
"I think there's a red book out there that says the opposite." He shrugged with a sigh.
Cassie placed both her hands on his face and forced him to meet her eyes as she offered a sad smile.
"You're refusing to see the bad in me, Cassie."
"I'm not refusing to see it, I just can't. There's none there to see."
Without a second of hesitation, Bucky placed his hands on the back of her head and pulled her close, kissing her hard on the lips. After she had overcome her shock, Cassie returned the kiss and trailed her hands down his chest.
When it was finally over, the pair pulled away with their noses still touching. Bucky was the first to speak, hands still wrapped in her hair.
"God, I've wanted to do that for so long."
