Ashlynn and Harry were sitting at the bar, while Amelia was watching over Ginny and Nora. The former two were slightly drunk, the alcohol hazing their thoughts. The two were conversing on random topics, filling each other with small information about their lives. Currently, they were going back and forth asking each other questions.
"My turn, what's your biggest fear?" Asked Harry.
Ashlynn pondered on the question with a giddy smile on her face. "That's...that's a really good question," she chuckled slightly, "Umm, probably - probably, umm -" she cleared her throat. "I don't know. Probably that working this hard is a waste if I don't get the real life I dreamed of."
"And what is that life you dreamed of?" He leaned closer to her, intrigued to hear the answer.
She opened her mouth to answer, but smirked when she realized what he was doing. Ashlynn rested her head on her hands and leaned closer, so they were only a few inches apart. "You don't get to ask two questions in a row." She tapped his nose and leaned back. He stared at her, licking his lips, before he leaned away and slouched in his seat. "It's my turn to ask a question." He gave an award-winning smile. "What's your biggest fear?"
It didn't take a second for Harry to know what his fear was. "To be forgotten. But, not only that. To be forgotten by someone I could never forget."
"Ouu, that's a good one - you're good at this!" Ashlynn exclaimed, taking a swing of her drink.
"I'm good at answering questions?" Harry slurred. He might've had more than 3 bourbons and a few shots. The man was still a lightweight and he blames that on himself for being a school teacher.
"Yeah, like your answers sound...smart?" She feigned confusion with a smile on her face. She looked absolutely adorable in his eyes. "I think that's what I'm trying to say, I'm not really sure at this point."
They broke out laughing, the alcohol simpering into them. "Now, I get to ask my question." Harry said when they collected themselves.
Ashlynn took another sip of her drink before answering. "Fire away, Potter."
"It's the question from before. What's your dream life?" He gave her his undivided attention, his drink coming to his lips and taking a big sip.
Ashlynn smiled to herself and stirred her drink in her hand. "I want...I want what I don't have now. Meaning, kids and a husband that's actually home and-and for my family to get out their trauma so we can all finally be happy. I want a big house, not as big as the one I have now, but a big one. I want my dogs to mate and have little doggies."
"Puppies, love. You mean puppies." It was at that moment that the two didn't even realize that he called her 'love'. He only ever called Ashlynn that. Ginny didn't even deserve the title in his opinion.
"Yeah, yeah those things. And then....then....I think that's it. I think that's the thing I'm waiting for in my life." She paused and stared off into space. "Now re-listening to what I just said, that sounds extremely selfish -"
"No, not really." He shrugged. "It sounds like a fairytale, more than reality though. But hey, it's a dream isn't it?" He leaned closer to her and stared into her blue eyes. The spark in her eyes was brighter than ever, and this is when he realized how much life was in them. A life waiting to be lived.
At this point, Ashlynn could smell the Bourbon in his breath. It was intoxicating. It was drawing her in, smothering all coherent thoughts in her mind. Harry leaned in, his lips begging for a taste of an unfamiliar feeling. Their lips were teasing each other. Seeing the other, made them want to taste the alcohol on their tongues. Just to feel the other the way they felt each other all those years ago.
