   The following morning, Nuel showed up with his car to pick up the girls, by the time he got to their apartment he meet the girls fully prepared looking elegantly dressed.  Nuel helped the girls in carrying their mini-bags into his car boot before turning to give proper attention to his girlfriend.
“you look elegant sweetheart, but I don’t want you putting on any skimpy wears….. we are dropping at my mom’s place before lodging.”  Nuel said quietly to the surprise of silver. Nuel has always talked about taking her to meet his mom but she wasn’t expecting it to be this soon, she was out of words only covering her mouth with her palm.
Precious who had been with them before the announcement exclaimed in excitement “wow, oh my goodness! Girlie say something na!” precious urged.
“babe, why are you silent? Are you not pleased with the idea of going to see my mom?” Nuel asked worried.
“No babe, not that… I am so delighted to meet with your mom, but I don’t know if I would be accepted because of my tribe” Silver replied Nervous.
“Hey babe, you don’t need to feel that way. My parents aren’t tribalistic and you will definitely be accepted. This is the first time I’m actually bringing home a girl despite the fact that I’m their only child.” Nuel said holding his girlfriend’s hands in comfort. “You are sure?” silver asked biting her lips.
“Yeah, I want my mom to meet the damsel that changed a lot about me… I love you now till forever babe.” Nuel said reassuringly.
“Awwwnnn, love is good oh!” precious interrupted with smiles.
“And baby sis, don’t forget you are welcomed to my house. My mom would definitely love you both, although my dad won’t be around during the course of our visiting because he went to Germany for a business trip.” Nuel said addressing precious.
“Thanks Nuel.” Precious said before tickling the cry-baby (silver) who was still trying to get hold of her emotions.
By the time they arrived at Nuel’s place it was some minutes after eight, they meet the absence of Nuel’s mom who left a note for them stating that she went to see her friend and would be coming back late.” Nuel showed the ladies into their rooms as they were already exhausted from the traffic congestion that held them on their way to Lagos.
“You girls should get yourself comfortable, I ran you girls warm bath. meanwhile let me go make calls to know the ware about of my friends who are lodging here tonight.” Nuel said while showing the girls to their respective rooms.
“Wait, we are not the only one on this vacation?” Silver asked surprised.
“Sorry I didn’t inform you earlier babe, my friends are joining us. Actually my friends wants us to celebrate together adding to the fact that I just finished my master degree, beside there will be a live show by one of the popular musician in some days time and it will be taking place at the beach.”
“Okay, I have no problem with that.”  Silver replied with a faint smile. By the time Nuel left the ladies room, the two girls hurriedly soaked themselves in their respective bath tub, dried up themselves before jumping into bed falling into a deep slumber.
It was hours later before the girls woke up to a full house, Mrs. Erica was deep in the conversation with the boys when the girls entered the sitting room greeting the elderly woman in unison. The greetings must have drawn the attention of everyone because all eyes turned in a brief seconds to stare at the girls.
“Good evening damsels, I understand you girls are worn out from the journey?” Mrs. Erica questioned with all friendliness.
“yes ma.” Silver was the first to reply still yawning. One could tell from the friendly smile on Mrs. Erica’s that she is indeed a nice person.
“We just cleared the table, but I asked the cook to get you girls food microwaved.” Mrs. Erica said peering into the girls faces.
“Thanks ma, but I think I will need a walk first.” Precious said forcing her smile just after she sighted Stephen amongst the six guys seated on the table combined with the annoying looks he had been throwing her.
“Okay dear, just take your time and be back before it gets very late.” Mrs. Erica warned. “We were actually going out to see a match, why don’t you join us?” Nuel asked precious who was already heading to the door. “Thanks, but a walk is all I need, silver can join you guys.” Precious replied making sure to ignore Stephen who was already standing and walking towards the front door.
“I am tired, I think I will sit and see movies with Mom.” Silver said still yawning.
“Ok guys, you all can go without me I will join you all later. I need some minutes with my mom.” Nuel said signaling to the  guys to give him some privacy.
“We will be right back mom!” Stephen said lightly pecking Mrs. Erica on her cheeks. “Easy there with my mom!” Nuel attacked jokingly.
“I will definitely treat her better if you fail to do “ Stephen said with smiles before heading to the door with the other guys.
“You guys should be back before midnight!” Mrs. Erica warned
“Sure, thanks ma.” The guys chorused before shutting the door behind them
The house became quiet after the friends left, it was just Silver, Mrs. Erica and Nuel left in the sitting room
“Mom I want you to meet silver, the girl I always tell you about.” Nuel introduced after some minutes of silence
“You are my son’s girlfriend?” Mrs. Erica asked peering into silver’s eyes, the question alone got silver tensed up, it took the reassuring eye contact from Nuel to get silver replying almost choking saying the yes.
“I’m ma!” silver said after some seconds so unsure if the woman’s friendly smile would suddenly disappear, or if she was going to be rebuked by the elderly woman.
“So much for the wait son, she is absolutely gorgeous. My son sings your praise all the time. This is actually his first time bringing home a girl in the whole twenty eight years of his life and I am certain you are definitely worth the wait.” Mrs. Erica commended motioning for silver to sit beside her.
“Thanks ma “ silver replied so unsure of what else to say
“My son told me that you are an indigene of ondo state, I don’t mind what tribe you may come from, I am only interested in your good character and that’s all.” Mrs. Erica said full of friendly smiles.
“I’m so grateful ma, I promise not to let down your expectations.” Silver said with a shy smile before embracing Mrs. Erica who had opened hands extended towards her.
“Someone is getting left out here, looks more like I don’t exist.” Nuel complained with a smile.
“Not in the world baby, but this is the ladies time…..go join the boys why we catch up with ladies gist!” Mrs. Erica advised motioning for Nuel to give her a peck before leaving.
“you are right mom, I better join the boys.” Nuel said lightly pecking his mom before saying bye to the ladies.
Walking around in the busy street of Lagos, with the chilly air as comfort precious wrapped her hands around herself and decided it was time she headed back to the Nuel’s magnificent building.
She had not gone far when she sighted the boys walking in her direction, guess the football match ended on time, she tried increasing her pace so as not to converse with the guys but it looked like the guys pace was more faster as they caught up with her in no distant time.
“Hi” Bruno one of the guys said after catching up with Precious
“Hi” Precious replied mentally taking note of the guys features, she had seen him twice and was getting obsessed by his features.
“Myself and the guys would like to get snacks before heading home, why don’t you join us?” Bruno asked flirting.
“I would love to, but I think I will pass.” Precious said with a stiff smile still ignoring Stephen condemning look.
“You are free to join us, girls your type aren’t good with pretense!” Stephen added with the other guys muffling their laughter.
“I don’t understand by what you mean by girls my type?” Precious asked Stephen with challenging eyes
“No sane girl would be walking alone in the street of Lagos by this odd hour if not you.” Stephen attacked.
“And how is that your business?” precious asked getting irritated.
“It shouldn’t be my business, I just hope you are not out there morally spoiling my friend’s girlfriend with your lifestyle.” Stephen said with the other guys still murmuring
“You don’t know a damn thing about me!” precious defended getting hurt by his words but refusing to let it show
“maybe you are right, but with the few I have seen I have come to conclusion. But I still think it is unwise for you to walk alone, join us to get the snacks before we head back home together, that way you will be safe.” Stephen said.
“I don’t need your empathy, I am a grown up and I can take care of myself!” precious replied challengingly.
“ My dear no one is trying to pity or look nice to you, I only want to do what is right at the moment.” Stephen said.
“So are you commanding me to join you?” Precious asked getting pissed off.
“If you see it that way!” Stephen replied with irritation.
“It hasn’t come to that, let her be man!” Bruno said finally after they have had enough of the come back between the two.
