Few minutes later, the girls came out looking gorgeous, Silver as usual was wearing a light make up on a skimpy gown.
" Babe isn't that gown too skimpy?" Nuel had asked In disapproval. "Not tonight babe, it took me so long to select this gown.... Besides I love what I'm putting on." Silver said getting all defensive. Nuel had to let the tension slide by dropping a comment "you look good all the same!" Nuel said giving Silver a light peck.
"Can we get going now?" precious said interrupting the brief moment of intimacy, she was actually on plain T-shirt and jeans and as usual without makeup.
"You mean you are actually going out on those stuffs?" Silver asked looking at precious clothes disapprovingly.
"What is wrong with the dress? it is just a mini-party mind you, Help me with this!" precious said handing her hair clips to silver while ignoring the disapproval on silver's face.
"You are weird!" silver said finally before clipping up precious hair. "Can we please start going? You two look stunning!" Nuel begged before leading the way with the ladies trailing behind him.
They soon arrived at the venue, it happened to be a bar with a restaurant as an extension. Nuel briefly scanned around in search of the exact table where his friends were seated, Stephen at the other end was the first to take notice of Nuel and signaled to the latter with a wave. Nuel took notice of the signal and walked in the direction of his friends with silver and precious walking side by side with him.
They were seated immediately they got to the table and Nuel wasted no time in introducing the girls to his friends and their girlfriends. Silver the Normal chatty type wasted no time in getting acquainted with the other ladies seated, precious happened to remain silent all along ignoring the winks and stares coming from some of the guys on the table.
It wasn't a new thing to her, she was used to the looks as she always gets such stares and looks whenever she is in a gathering and this wouldn't be an exception. Precious is an epitome of beauty and one wouldn't take long to notice that she was heavenly shaped with sharp curves that made it so easy for her to get the attention of the opposite gender, she was simply not interested.
Stephen one of the guys on the table has been giving her the look ever since she got seated and precious had done her best in ignoring the looks. The opportunity soon called for Stephen when Nuel and Silver excused themselves to get something, Stephen wasted no time in occupying the seat previously occupied by silver.
"Hey beautiful!" Stephen had greeted with a lot of confidence, one could see he was a handsome dark skin guy and well built as well. "Hi" precious had said briefly refusing to look up from her mobile phone. "you came alone?" Stephen asked trying to start up a conversation. "yeah, you got a problem with that?" precious asked meanly "uhm! Not really...." Stephen answered loosing his confidence. "can I get to know you?" Stephen asked trying to gain back his confidence, he was used to girls coming after him and not the reverse. "I need my space please!" precious had shouted angrily, she wasn't aware of her raised voice until she noticed that some of the guys on the table were already looking at her in disapproval and there was whispers amongst the ladies seated.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way." Precious had whispered quietly but it was too late, Stephen didn't hear her apologizes he had left almost immediately after the embarrassment. Precious felt bad, she didn't mean to embarrass the poor guy, she simply went too hard on the guy but it was partially his fault, she had felt he was mounting much pressure on her and she needed to let him know. Nuel and silver returned few minutes after Stephen left in anger unaware of the scene precious created. "sorry for leaving you this long, I and Nuel went in search of popcorn, we got you some " silver said in whispers while handing over the popcorn to precious. "Thanks, but I want to go home!" precious whispered back looking unhappy.
"Is anything the matter precious? Silver asked concerned, she couldn't figure out the sudden change of mood in precious.
" I'm fine, I just want to go home!" precious whispered again looking very unhappy, the stares she was getting from the others on the table seem to add to her discomfort.
" I'll come with you then!" silver whispered back
"There wouldn't be a need for that, I will find my way home
Besides Nuel would need a company! " Precious insisted in whispers
"Don't worry, Nuel will understand!" silver promised before briefly whispering into Nuel's hearing. "Do you want me driving you girls home?" Nuel had asked his girlfriend concerned. "No baby, we will be fine." Silver assured and signaled to precious to lead the way, she had exchanged goodbye pleasantries with those seated on the table before joining precious who had quietly sneaked away from the table without a goodbye to anyone.
"Hey girl, reduce your speed and calm down. I'm on heels!" silver said trying to catch up with Precious who still didn't reduce her Pace even after silver caught up with her. "Are you okay precious?" Silver asked after catching up with precious. " yes, I just want to go home and sleep!" precious said flagging down a cab, Silver reluctantly entered the cab and got her headphone connected without saying another word to precious.
They drove in silence until they got to their apartment, silver wasted no time in heading to the door without a backward glance at precious who was still settling the cab man. When precious entered the room, she found silver still listening to music on her headphone the only difference is that she was lying down this time facing off the wall. "I'm sorry for the change In my mood silver!" precious apologized but got no response from silver, she went over to silver's side of the bed and turned her over, plugging off the headphone in the process and forcing silver to look at her. "I just said I'm sorry." Precious said looking unhappy.
"Sorry for what?" silver asked
"You left all the fun to be here with me, the least I can do is to give you the reason behind my change of mood, but rather I choose to ignore you." Precious said.
"Okay....." silver said trying to go back to bed. "But I just said I'm sorry!" precious complained. "I have heard, I want to go to bed now!" silver snapped drawing up the duvet.
"You and I Know you are still mad at me, but I'm sorry...... Stop giving me the harsh treatment" precious begged.
"Okay, so what do you want me to do for you?" silver asked finally peering into precious eyes
"I want you to stop been mad at me." Precious said with pleading eyes
" I will, on the condition that you will tell me the reason for your sudden change of mood at the party." Silver said
"Okay, I lost my cool at the party today and I literally shouted at a guy, I never meant it that way.... I only wanted him to leave me alone but I just couldn't get hold of my anger." Precious explained covering her face with her Palm.
"You mean to tell me you shouted at a guy merely for talking to you?" silver asked amused
"I never meant it to come out that way, like I wanted to maintain my cool and make him understand that I needed no company, but my mouth was too fast to lash out quick!" precious said feeling all guilty.
"You wronged the guy!" silver said quietly climbing down the bed to get two glasses of wine. "here, have it! You look tensed." Silver said handing a glass to precious.
"Thanks silver." Precious said sipping the content. "so tell me, who is this guy that got so unfortunate with you tonight?"
"I don't know his name." precious said letting out a breath. " I shouldn't be wrong in calling you an Ice-Berg, I can't believe you literally shouted at someone who you barely know his name" silver said surprised.
"It is unlike me, stop making it sound like I meant to embarrass the guy on purpose." Precious defended.
"And what difference does it make? Anyways I never said you did it on purpose, but of a truth you overdid it this time." Silver said plainly.
"I Know, but he was so quick to Leave..... he couldn't even wait for me to apologize" precious said unpinning her hair
"who would have waited in his shoes, like after being embarrassed like that? Like you practically raised your voice at him and expected him to wait behind and pretend he was all cool with everything, nah you are wrong this time." Silver said dropping her cup.
"I will definitely apologize if I get a chance to see him." Precious promised with a yawn as she took her cup and that of silver's heading to the kitchen.
"I'm not judging you either, you have to take it easy on guys." Silver said with a yawn.
By the time precious returned, she found silver already deep asleep.
