part fourteen

It happened to be the last days for the finalist, Silver and Precious was seen packing up. "I will so much miss school and the trials that comes with it?" Precious said looking at her almost packed up luggage's.

"isn't it time you tell me what transpired at the beach that changed a lot about you?" silver asked looking at Precious expectantly

"Sure, it is." Precious responded going into details, telling silver her horrible experience at the beach.

"Stephen is sorry, I know that....... Just forget about the whole experience ok." Silver advised the latter who had her mind made up.

The girls kept on packing discussing other topics and by then the whole topic of Stephen had been long forgotten.

The girls were still busy packing, when there was a knock on the door. Silver went to answer the visitor hoping to see Nuel, while Precious went about packing up her remaining things.

"Precious you have a visitor!" silver announced entering into the room

"Visitor?" Precious asked surprised, she hadn't invited anyone and she was not expecting anyone as well

"Yes, he is seated in the sitting room...... why don't you go attend to him while I help you finish up with your packing " silver urged.

"Did you just say he?" Precious asked trying to guess who the visitor would be

"Maybe you misheard me, just go check on your visitor." Silver said and continued with the packing.

Precious entered the sitting room to see Stephen, the latter had stood up on seeing her. "Hi presh!" Stephen greeted

"And what are you doing here?" Precious asked with clenched teeth.

"I'm here to seek for your forgiveness, I'm sorry for what I did and I'm genuine about the apology." Stephen apologized looking regretfully at Precious

"And what difference does it make?" Precious asked between clenched teeth

"I get haunted in my dreams by your crying face, I can't seem to take it anymore....... All I need is your forgiveness " Stephen replied looking sad.

"I really hope the image hunt you for the rest of your life, you know what? I'm so glad that I wouldn't have to face this all alone, just stay away from me." Precious warned with the hurt written all over her face.

"I'm really sorry presh." Stephen apologized.

"When you are done, you know the exit door." Precious said bluntly before leaving the sitting room to the bed room. She meet silver still folding her clothes

"Hope you were not rude to the guy?" silver asked peering into Precious face

"why didn't you tell me that he was the one I was going to see?" Precious asked looking offended. "I know that you wouldn't want to see him, if you find out that he is the one looking for you." Silver explained with a shrug

"Sorry, I know you meant no harm." Precious apologized finally before going about with the packing, Stephen's talk was not mentioned again even after the packing.

Weeks after their graduation everyone wished themselves goodbye and good luck in their upcoming one year compulsory service to the country. Silver and Precious were not left out as they hugged themselves knowing they were about to start up another phrase of their lives

"I will keep in touch, and please tell Mom and Dad that I will come to see them once I get fully settled at Lagos." Silver said

"No problem girlie, we all would be glad to have you." Precious replied with smiles.

Precious had made her way to her family house at Oyo, it wasn't a distant drive to her house, a lot of structures had changed as there were now light poles and well constructed roads the exact opposite of how she left the place last two years. Her parents had welcomed her back home with open arms alongside the twins Daniel and Daniella who happened to be the last born of her mom

"you are welcome home my dear, I'm so proud of you." Her father had said with a pat on her shoulder. The family had led a short prayer, thanking God for preserving their daughter and keeping her out of troubles only to make her graduate with a second class upper from the University of ibadan. After the prayer the twins were all over her with questions "sis what did you bring for me?" Daniella the youngest amongst the twin asked

"Let your sister rest kids, she is not running away...... my daughter you have really lost weight, don't worry by the time I feed you now with fufu and correct vegetable soup you will regain all your lost weight." Deaconess Anna promised.

"Mom everywhere is now changed here oh, starting with the structures and so on." Precious observed

"The new government is really trying my dear, just go and shower up while I and your siblings make you a sumptuous meal." Deaconess Anna said rising to her feet with the twins trolling behind her.

By the time Precious was done with her meal, she had given the presents she had bought for the twins who were so overexcited and left to their rooms to check out the content of the wrapped up items. By the time they were all gone, Precious was left with her parents who talked at length with her, asking her series of questions and catching up on events that had happened in her absence, they had talked at length before Precious father stood up to go get dressed as he had a youth convention to handle.

Mrs. Anna kept on catching up on old times with her daughter, she even asked about silver as she was familiar with Silver.

"She went back to Lagos, but she promised to come before the Thanksgiving or probably after the Thanksgiving." Precious replied

" Okay, I will love to see that angel again..... it is two years since I last saw her " Mrs. Anna commented. By the time Precious finally retired to her bed it was so late and she was so exhausted, she had missed the comfort of her room which happened to be the same way she left it since the past two years, the only difference was that it was tidy and had no piece of dust around and she could be sure to associate the cleanness of the room to Daniella the younger one amongst the twins.

It was indeed good to be home having spent about a week at home. Family, friends and well wishers had come to congratulate her and prayers had been showered on her, the love from friends and family was so overwhelming.

It was Precious routine to always take an early morning walk, she had woken up the following morning after brushing her teeth and combing her shinning long hair which she inherited from her mom, before going out to take a short walk.

By the time she returned from the stroll, she had taken her bath and sat with her parents to take breakfast.

"A young man was here yesterday to see you, but he couldn't wait because he had a business meeting to attend." Deacon Matthew said while serving himself.

"Did he reveal his identity." Precious asked curious

"He said he is a friend." Mrs. Anna said without anyone offering a better description of who the strange guy is.

"he didn't drop his name?" Precious asked still surprised with the whole story

"He actually said he would be coming back." Deacon Matthew said wiping his lips with a Napkin before rising to his feet with her mom standing up as well.

"We have a program to attend to, the kids are going for their piano lessons..... you can come with us if you feel like or else you have other plans." Mrs. Anna said

"Thanks mom, I think I need to rest." Precious responded with a smile

"Take your time dear, I and your father will be back in the evening time." Mrs. Anna said before leaving the sitting room.

The twins helped clear of the table before leaving for their piano lessons, Precious made a video call to silver and they spoke at length before Precious finally ended the video call.
