Ky's kiss was sweet. He kissed me straight on the lips, and placed slow kisses on my lips.
"Oolala!" I heard someone say.
Ky and I pull apart, my arms were around his neck, and his hands were resting on my waist. I looked to my left to see Dalissa, Kristin, Sarah, and Heather looking at us. Dalissa, Kristin, and Sarah were moving their shoulders up and down, and Heather was waving her hand for a fan to her face, being all dramatic.
"Heather, stop it!" I say playfully.
Ky and I released our hold on each other, and stood side-by-side, holding hands.
As all of us were eating from the table with the food and drinks on it, we then heard a voice boom throughout the large and spacious room.
"Alright, Sophomores! Who's ready to have a night to remember before summer starts?" All of the Sophomores were cheering. "Alright," boomed the same voice. "We're going to be taking requests from many of you guys. Don't worry, we'll play YOUR song."
I scanned the room for my many other friends, and I spotted Stacie and Lacy talking to the poular girls. All I could do was just shake my head and roll my eyes. "I think that Stacie and Lacy are trying to impress them, don't you think, Ky?" I ask him, looking up at him. He looked at his sister and mine, and looked down at me. "I agree, Shelby. All Lacy talks about when she comes home is to get prettier, and fancier. What about Stacie?"
"Oh, trust me, she's BEYOND THAT!" I say. We both start to laugh.
"Do you think I try to be popular?" Ky asks me. I stand on my toes, and kiss his cheek. "If you try, I don't notice it because you're perfect just the way you are." Ky looks down at me, and leans down and kisses the top of my head.
"What about me? How do you see me?" I ask, slightly folding my arms. Ky stares in my eyes, then takes my hands, and responds by saying, "Shelby Thompson, you are beautiful, brave, emotional, passionate, kind, sweet, and so much more. I love you so much, and I want you to know that," Ky said smoothly, a bright smile shown, revealing perfect white teeth.
"Is that how you REALLY see me?" I ask him, leaning closer. "How I see you doesn't matter what's on the outside, it matters what's on the inside," Ky said, his forehead touching mine. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "Really?" I barely say, getting choked up. Ky then takes his thumb and brushes away the tear.
"Shelby Marie Thompson," Ky began, saying my full name. "I love you to the moon and back. When you're not with me, every night when the moon comes out, I talk to it as if I'm talking to you. Shelby, you're my moon." I sniff. "And you're my sun."
I quickly wrap my arms around Ky's back, my face buried in his chest. I am crying so hard, I feel a wet spot where my eyes are, but ignore it. I feel a hand rest on the back of my head, and the hand strokes my hair.
"Ky, can we take this outside?" I ask, my voice muffles against his jacket. "Sure, Seashell," he responds. I then separate my body from his, and wipe my eyes and face. I look at his jacket where I cried. "Oh, sorry about that," I point out. He looks down, and laughs. Ky looks back up. "Don't be. It's alright." Then, Ky takes my hand, and leads me outside.
Once we stepped into the warm air, a slight breeze picks up, blowing my hair and my dress slightly to the left.
Looking around, I marvel at the gazebo that was added to tonight's graduation and dance. It was surrounded with lights, along with the trees surrounding it.
Taking my hand, Ky walks me into the gazebo. "This is beautiful," I murmur. I look back at the school. Lights are on in different rooms, but the main lights were the ones that were from the graduation and dance room.
