Amelie's Point of View

I roll over in bed, my head was pounding. My eyes are barely open and I groan.

"So you're finally awake." I heard a male voice. Warren?

I roll back over and open my eyes, "Oh shit Warren."

"Did I scare you?" He nervously said.

"No, no," I said sitting up. "I just didn't realize I was here, I'm sorry, have I just been here? Am I being an inconvenience-"

"Shush," He says handing me a bottle of water and a pill. "Advil."

"Thanks," I sighed swallowing the pill.

"The party was good last night", He said. "I don't think I've ever partied that hard."

"Yeah," I laughed. "My brother throws the craziest parties. I never got that strung up at a party though."

"Yeah I didn't know you were a smoker," He laughed.

"It's not a regular thing or anything," I shrugged my shoulders. "Sometimes after growing up in my uptight household Nathan and I just needed to let loose sometimes. Y'know?"

"No yeah I get it," Warren replied. "Being a Prescott must come with a lot of pressure."

"Mhm," I nodded my head. "Wait what time is it?"

"It's like one. Why?"

"I have to try out for the Poetry Jam at the main library later, three-fifteen," I said rubbing my head. "I should leave."

"I can walk you back," Warren offered.

"No," I laughed. "I'm a mess look at me, trust me, you don't wanna be seen with me."

"Come on," Warren said.

"It's fine, really," I smiled as I got up and grabbed my bag. "Now it's time for the walk of shame."

"Wow," Warren said acting hurt. "You're embarrassed to be seen walking out of my room after a long night."

"No Warren," I laughed. "I just hope I don't run into my brother, for your sake."

"I didn't know you guys got along so well."

"We seriously didn't at all growing up," I said standing near the door with my hand on the knob. "But we have to stick together. We're twins. Anyways, Bye Warren."

"Bye," He said. "I'll text you."

I nodded my head, "Cool." And left his dorm.

"Look who decided to wake up," Nathan mocked me.

"Shush Nath," I said. "I have a tryout today for the Blackwell Poetry Jam."

"What?" He said. "You think I'm going to that nerd crap?"

"Bye Nathan," I said leaving the dormitories and rolling my eyes.

I was up next. It was my turn to say my most intriguing poetry verse I've ever written throughout the years. Mine was a series of haikus actually.

"Next up, Amelie Prescott!"

I stood on the stage, my feet flat beneath me on the wooden floorboards. The auditorium was filled with all nerds of literature.

"Cold. My skin is cold.
Warm. His skin warm like the sun.
Melt. Becoming one.

Sweet. The experience.
Scared. As he ripped out my heart.
Torn. When he left me.

Scars. Left on my skin.
Red. The blood spilling out my chest.
Crazy. I loved him.
