Amelie's Point of View

I just got off the phone with Tony Jackson, Nathan's lawyer. He was on his way to the precinct to see him.

I sat in my dorm room now, wondering what to do. And at that thought, there was a knock on my door.

I got up and answered the door, Max stood there. My eyebrows furrowed and my breathing got deeper and louder as I made eye contact with you, "What are you doing here Max? You shouldn't be here."

"I just.. I need you to know something," Max said letting herself into my room.

I turned around to face her and shut the door behind us, "And that is?"

"I'm gonna defend Nathan in court."

"Wait what?" I asked dumbfounded. "What do you mean?"

"After Chloe and I left the dark room yesterday, I went back to Chloe's with her. My phone had been dead that night so I charged it. When it turned on I had a voicemail from Nathan, he was crying," She said as she sat down on my sofa. "He was warning me about Jefferson. He said he hated Jefferson for manipulating him and making him felt like someone cared about him. I actually felt bad for Nathan for once. I never thought I would."

"What else did he say?" I asked.

"He said he didn't mean for anyone to get hurt and for some reason something inside of me is saying to believe him," She said.

"He's telling the truth," I said. "I know what he did to Chloe and Kate was wrong. I'm not trying to get him out free. I just don't want him in jail. I was just on the phone with lawyer, he said something about an insanity plea."

"Yeah," Max nodded. "I'm gonna be there to defend and say I think he's not competent to be treated like everyone else."

"He didn't mean to hurt anyone," I said. "He just wanted to make Jefferson proud."

"I know," Max nodded.

"He was actually gonna leave last night," I said. "For good."

"To where?" Max asked.

"Seattle, with Dakota," I said. "He wanted to leave all this shit behind him and get help. He was telling me he was gonna leave after the party. But then.. I guess.. what happened, happened.."

"That poor girl," Max said looking down. "Jefferson is gonna burn in hell for what he did."

"What about Kate?" I asked. "We can make a strong argument if she's on the defense. Since he.. y'know.. got her to Jefferson."

"I think she just doesn't wanna say anything at all unless the court sends her a subpoena."

"Alright," I nodded my head. "That's fine."

"How are you though?" Max said. "You were one of Jefferson's victims too Amelie."

"Exactly, I was a victim and Nathan had nothing to do with it which just further proves how capable Jefferson was at doing everything on his own."

"No, this isn't about Nathan, Amelie," Max sighed. "I mean, how are you feeling. You must be.. traumatized.."

"It was scary," I nodded my head. "He was gonna kill us.."

"Warren told us what you told him," Max said.

"I know," I sighed putting my head in my hands.

"You'd be dead if he never said anything," Max said.

"I know," I lifted my head up to look at her.

"Don't give him such a hard time about this Amelie," She said getting up. "If you need anything, or know anything about Nathan's case, you let me know."

I nodded, "Yeah. Yeah, sure."

She shut the door behind her and I reached into my back pocket to find my phone. I should text Warren.

Me: Hey Warr, can we talk?

Warren: Of course, where do you want to meet up?

Me: I'll come to you

I grabbed my bag and left towards Warren's room. I didn't even know what to say to him? Should I tell him about the dark room? Should I tell him about Nathan's case? Or should I just apologize and separate our relationship from all my Nathan bullshit?

As I entered the boy's dormitories, there were a few people standing around and talking. Once they noticed my presence they just stared at me. I just stayed there, standing, I didn't know what to do as everyone was staring at me. I felt my skin burning up.

Warren's door swung open. He walked out his room and saw every staring at me, "Mind your own business." He said to everyone causing them all to turn their heads back to what they were doing.

I guess since Warren kicked Nathan's ass, he was feeling like he can take anyone on. Well, that's Warren for you.

"Amelie come here," He said walking over to me with his arms wide.

I fell into his arms. His body enveloped mine. We rocked back and forth as we hugged. I felt a kiss on the top of my head as he pulled away, "Let's go," He said holding my hand in his as we walked to his dorm.

We entered his dorm. I just stood there as he sat down, "Sit Amelie. What's the matter?"

I sat next to him, which turned to both of us laying down, "It was so scary," I said thinking of being tied up in the darkroom.

I flinched thinking of the dark room, "Nathan!" I screamed. "Nathan please! Wake up!"

"It's okay Amelie, we only have to talk about it if you feel comfortable," Warren said, he went to go put his arms around me and I flinched, my body jerked, I turned my head away from him, and shut my eyes. "Amelie I'm sorry, I wasn't going to hurt you, I just wanted to hold you. Can I hold you? Is that okay Amelie?"

I nodded my head and moved closer into his chest as he wrapped his arms around me.

"There were pictures hung up. Of girls before me," I said, my voice muffled by his chest.

I could feel Warren once again kissing the top of my head, "Go on, I'm listening."

"Warren.. I'm sorry I freaked out on you. If you didn't tell Max everything I told you, Nathan and I would be just like Rachel Amber.." I started to cry.

"Hey, hey Amelie, don't cry," He said slowly pulling away from me so he can make eye contact with me. "You have every right to continue to freak out on me."

I nodded my head, not knowing what else to do or say.

"Can I kiss you?" He asked.

"Mhm."

He leaned down and lifted my chin up and planted a kiss on my lips.
