"So, is this your way of hiding out and avoiding the situation, or what?"

"Who let you in?"

"The window."

"It was locked."

"Kakashi-"

"You're a real pervert sometimes, aren't you Jiraiya? I didn't know you swung that way though..." The silver haired Jonin noticeably smirked lightly under his mask.

"I-This is not about my Sexuality! This is about you and smooth thighs!" Jiraiya gave a frustrated sigh.

"(Y/N)? What about her?"

"You mean to tell me you aren't avoiding the situation? Don't act like you're not. (Y/N) says you go straight to and from practice, and that you're not talking to her."

"I accidentally said I love her, when I myself am not even sure." Kakashi replied, turning another page in his novel. He was fully invested in Icha Icha paradise, as he always was.

Especially since Jiraiya was going to put out another one soon. He needed to re-read all of the previous ones just to make sure he was up to speed(as if he wasn't already, he could practically recite the book like he could do a Jutsu).

"Kakashi!"

The ninja looked up calmly at the sound of his name.

"Hm?"

"You never listen to me, and I get that, you want to continue to be one of those calm, aloof, mysterious, emotionless Ninja. It's your brand. I get it. But just remember that you can't spend life living vicariously through Icha Icha, and I'm not just talking about the Sex."

"I have students to train. Who, by the way, you have been teaching Jutsus' to behind my back?" Kakashi's eyes met Jiraiya's.

"Oh, haha, that. That's-Thats not the point of this conversation." He sighed.

"What happens if one of you die? You're Ninja after all. It's only a matter of time until you encounter a dangerous mission, and then...."

"That's pretty morbid, especially from someone such as yourself, Jiraiya." The Copy Cat Ninja said.

"Well it's the truth. You saw how
(Y/N)'s family is, her own cousin tried to kill her! Not to mention that she evaded a marriage, which must've been embarrassing for Lord Kaneki-"

"Koneko."

"Koneko, whatever. I'm sure he'll want his revenge, since he's known to be proud, he'll be angry that some girl stood him up....Point is, do you really want to die knowing you could've been happier but didn't take the chance?"

Kakashi looked up.

"I'm not going to throw my feelings--of which I myself am unsure of-- on
(Y/N), who, is still recovering from a break up, almost getting killed, and is now taking care of a kid too."

"Then when are you?"

"I don't know, maybe...When she's ready? Or perhaps never, it's not like I deserve her, or rather anything much in this life."

"And why do you think that?"

"Look around you. Do you see anyone else here? No. Why? Because they're dead."

Jiraiya's eyes widened.

"That's all that will ever happen. Death. All around me. If I love (Y/N) as more than just a friend, I'm sure it won't take long for her this curse to kill her too."

"You're not cursed, you've just been through some rough experiences. It's what makes you who you are." Jiraiya said, finally taking a seat instead of hovering over the poor Jonin in front of him.

"Did you not see what happened the last time? My Nightmares troubled me so much she had to lay with me out of pity. I can't imagine putting her through that every single day."

"Maybe she doesn't mind. It was her that crawled into bed with you and not the other way around, and that was when she was still with Zoko. She clearly cared anough to be with you. Besides, I'm here with you and I'm not dead."

"Well of course you're not."

"Are you implying that you don't love me?" Jiraiya gave a look out offense. At this point, he had at least hoped Kakashi considered him to be a close friend.

Kakashi looked at him blankly.

"Well okay then. You buy my books, that's enough for me, I suppose. All I want is for you to write your own story. Pave your own path. You know, make your own Icha Icha. And maybe, you know, make your own kids."

Kakashi grimaced.

"I already have three students, that's enough for me."

"Is it?" Jiraiya questioned, a smirk on his lips once more.

When Kakashi didn't reply, he stood.

"I suppose it is for now. Just think about what I said." He said before leaving.

Kakashi placed his novel down for the first time that afternoon.

What was Jiraiya thinking? Fully confessing his feelings to (Y/N) would ruin everything, and make things extremely awkward in their friendship, especially if she didn't feel the same.

He loved her?

But did he? He didn't know, and that was the problem. He didnt want to rush the decision, but at the same time....

What if they did die spontaneously?

(Y/N) had already almost died once.

That didn't change his mind on how he felt, but the thought of losing her hurt him, almost to the pint where he really could say he loved her.

The real question was if he'd actually tell her anytime soon.

And what time was too soon?
