"Isn't this pretty? It was the Zither used at our wedding. A treasure gifted from a wealthy friend of ours." The Lord mused happily.
You rolled your eyes. You were here for more information, not to hear about treasures from Chinese descent.
He turned around.
"I suppose I haven't introduced myself formally. I'm Zendou Xi, my wife is Jirou Xi, and our daughter is Harui. You're Kyungmi Uchiha, which I'm sure was mentioned before." His fingers brushed against the Zither and gently pulled out a picture.
"Your father was a Uchiha. He was a very quiet and observant man. He didn't like to talk much, but when he did, we all listened because his words always meant something. However, somehow, your mother found fondness in him. There was no one he'd talk to more than her. Your mother was strikingly beautiful, see?"
He finally handed you the picture he had been holding.
The woman was very pretty, her unearthly beauty and poise was something rarely seen these days. You almost didn't believe you were related, but you knew you were. From the sheen neatness of her hair colour to the colour of her skin, you were the same. However your eye colours were different. You must've gotten that from your father.
This was all so shocking to you, you couldn't believe it was actually true.
You looked up at Zendou to see his eyes filled with tears.
"Your mother....She was my younger sister."
You looked up at him, just noticing some similar features between you and him.
"So, my mother married a Uchiha?" You asked.
"Much to our family's surprise, however they were quite a prominent family at the time, so there wasn't a huge problem with it. They we're married and later had you. Nevertheless, just about 6 years later after they were married, something happened..." His head hung suddenly as he recalled past memories.
"One day, your parents brought you to us. They feared something was afoot amongst the Uchiha clan, and didn't want to risk your safety. However, since they were adults, they felt it their duty to help the elders with what was going on. That....." He breathed in and out again.
"That was the last day I ever saw them. Later, I heard that the whole Uchiha clan had been wiped clean out, and I knew....I knew they were gone. They left you with us because they knew we could care for you."
You took a moment to breath. This was all so much to take in. It took you a moment to realize that you were even crying. You tried your best to wipe the tears but they kept coming. Your heart broke for your parents. They sacrificed themselves for the good of the clan, but didn't want to endanger you.
Zendou embraced you in a hug. So you truly were related. He was your uncle....However, there was still many questions on your mind.
Why did you think your name, was '(Y/N) (L/N)'? Why didn't you remember who you were? Why didn't you remember the Xi's? And why weren't you still raised in their household?
"Now that you're back, we won't let you ever get lost again. I spent years searching for you. I finally gave up because you were assumed dead too....Im so so sorry Kyungmi....I really am. I should've looked for you more. I should've been there for you." He held you in a tight hug.
You were relieved, but still confused. You had gotten lost? How?
"Now that you're here, I'll raise you the way your parents intended, and turn you into a young lady. Don't worry, you're at the perfect age to marry." Your eyes widened.
"But I never agreed to being raised. I'm 20 already. There's no need for-"
"Yes but you've been out of a proper home for so long, we'll have to re-groom you. Besides, you're legally bound to us, how could I possibly let you leave?"
This is not what you asked for.....
"I'll make a proper young Lady out of you yet, Kyungmi Xi."
~*~
Weeks had passed, and you had spent all of your time doing 'practical things'.
You were woken up at early hours for primping and other nonsense which you never did, you fingers were constantly pained from painting, embroidery, cooking, and other things.
You were pretty sure you were about to shove a Zither up someone's ass too. However, you couldn't leave because your parents had handed you over to the Xi's physically, but also in documentation form too. They were your actual gaurdians. You quickly pointed out that you were above the age of 18, but the documentation stated that they were your care takers until you were 21, in which you'd inherit the wealth they'd left you, which, you had yet to see.
You sighed and slumped against your chair at breakfast. This wasn't what you had wanted at all. You missed the leaf, your team, Kakashi....
Your face heated up a bit thinking of the copycat ninja, then, your eyes widened.
Shouldn't you have been thinking of Zoko?
You sighed. What were you even supposed to do? Kakashi knew you were here, Zoko didn't.
"Don't slouch, its highly improper." Harui shot at you from across the table that morning.
You resisted the urge to roll your eyes.
You had almost forgotten she was there.
Almost.
Harui had done her best to make your life as unbearable as possible in the Xi residence.
She messed up your shoes, threw your ninja clothes in the fire, always disturbed you during Zither playing, switched your embroidery with her own. Not that you cared for most of those materialistic things, but you were suffering as it was, why should she have the right to make it any worse?
You sat up straight under the burning stare of the Elder lady Xi however. You slightly feared her. She gave maids lashings when they didn't listen.
"Good. Now, the days programmes would go on as usual but your uncle and I have some great news to share." Jirou seemed too excited. This worried you.
"First of all, I'd like to mention that, although your skills aren't quite up to Parr as a young lady's should be, you've been doing so well and you learn so fast. We thought it'd take months but we've groomed you in weeks. Because of this, we were able to find you a suitable arrangement."
"Arrangement?" Oh no. Not this again. You just wanted to get back to the leaf. You felt trapped here! You were due to be 21 in just a few weeks. Couldn't this wait?
"Yes, you know. We've found you the perfect arrangement." She gushed, holding a letter.
Harui's eyebrows knit in frustration and her face reddened in anger.
"Why is she going first!?"
"Because she's the eldest. Besides, you're the young lady of the Xi household, we'd have to find you a better arrangement."
You growled.
"What arrangement!?"
"(Y/N). A young lady does not raise her voice. Now since you know how to read, I'll allow you to do so." The elder lady Xi smiled lovingly at you for once, as did your uncle.
You took the letter and opened it.
Kyungmi Uchiha-Xi to be married to Lord Koneko of the Hidden Cloud Village.
Oh no.
