You all sat waiting to hear what the Hokage had to say. The man himself seemed troubled, but not deeply.

Weirdly enough, Jiraiya himself didn't seem to be too surprised (or confused) by the Third's actions. He must've talked to him previously.

The Hokage finally let out a sigh before saying what he needed to say.

"My apologies for abruptly disrupting your night, I know you're supposed to be enjoying yourselves, but...I have something important to ask you all."

"Well go on then."

"Naruto!!" Sakura hissed.

You bowed in apologies to the third before giving the Blonde a look that made him cower and also bowed.

"S-sorry."

The third let out a small chuckle. It almost caught you off guard...When did he ever really laugh?

You supposed being in his position might've brought about enough stress that it was hard to really find amusement in anything.

The tension of the silence built up and you found yourself biting a fingernail in anticipation.

What was he going to say?

Were you in trouble?

Did Jiraiya actually tell him the kids broke in?

No. He wouldn't. He couldn't. Jiraiya didn't like book information getting leaked, not his privacy being invaded(like most people)  but he wasn't that serious. At least not serious enough to go and tell the Hokage.

Then....

Was he disbanding the team?

You felt panic rise in your chest as your heart began to race.

No..

He couldn't.

The kids....

Your  kids.

Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto...

And Kakashi....

You felt tears welling but swallowed and waited.

You should at least hear what he had to say before jumping to conclusions.

Not only that, but even if he did disband the team, that didn't mean you wouldn't see them, it'd just be less than usual.

"I need you all to take on a mission."

Well duh. Why hadn't you thought of that from the beginning instead of coming up with dumb scenarios that were close to impossible.

"There's a mission from the Hidden Mist. Apparently some of there people are stuck in the Hidden Cloud."

You listened, wondering(once again) why they couldn't use their own Ninjas' for this Job.

"The reason I need you all to do this mission is because I owe the Leader of the Hidden Mist a favour. And the people you're escorting are rumoured to have a traitor amongst their guards. So while you'll be escorting them, your job will also be to weed out the traitor."

You were actually surprised to hear that, but then again, it was the people of the mist.

"Who will we be escorting?"

"The Prince and Princess of the Hidden Mist."
