For my lovely yenvyvuu, sorry I took so long to update! Hope you enjoy, and I hope I can keep Mondays as your favorite ❤❤.
You found your self pinned to the ground underneath Kakashi.
That was twice in a short period of time, but hey, whose counting?
Only a few moments passed but it felt like hours as his onyx eye observed you.
"(Y/N)..." He mumbled. He looked at you once more, this time quite whistfully, before deciding it was time to let you go.
You both sat up and you dusted dirt off your clothes.
"What are you doing here? It's late, and it's highly dangerous for a woman to be out walking by herself at night."
You were still getting over the shock of being floored by him. Twice.
You sighed as you caught your breath.
"I was....I was looking for you, Kakashi. You missed our class today and I was worried."
His visible eye widened.
"You were?" He asked
"Of course I was. You're my teammate! Why wouldn't I be?"
He hid a grimace at your words.
'Teammate' that's right. That's all he'd ever be....
"Right. Well I was here. I needed some time alone to mourn my father and fallen comrades."
You nodded.
"So I heard..."
He couldn't help but blush a bit. You had asked about him? You truly were genuinely worried.
However, he threw the thought from his brain. You were his friend. Of course you'd care. He didn't know why he felt the need to be more all of a sudden.
"We should get back. It's getting dark." He stood to leave but you stopped him.
"I brought a candle. Let's stay here. Don't you want to honour those you cherish a bit longer?"
His visible eye widened for the second time that night. You were full of surprises today werent you?
"I hope you don't mind. I know it's not the most proper ceremony, but I have these sticks of incense and I thought maybe...Maybe I could help you honour them. It's okay if you don't want me to, I can leave, I just thought..."
He nodded.
"Thank you."
He wanted to tell you that'd he'd love for you to be there. That he was happy you'd stayed, happy you cared. But to no avail, the copycat Ninja had been reduced to nothing but a scared cat in the moment, and instead, lightly took your hand, helping you sit down beside him.
You bowed politely before you lit a stick of incense and gave it to
Kakashi. You then lit another for yourself."Father...This is (Y/N). She was apart of the Anbu, like me, and is my comrade and fellow sensei for team 7."
You bowed again.
"It's nice to meet you sir."
The wind blew a bit, and you shivered but smiled when Kakashi said,
"I know he likes you."
You spent the next few hours honouring his fallen teammates before you both headed back to his house.
You had yet to step foot in his apartment before that day and you were surprised to find that it was extremely bare.
You had kind of imagined it'd be that way, but you also didn't know what to imagine.
"Would you like something to eat? I can make us dinner." He said to break the silence.
You nodded vigorously.
You hadn't known he could cook either. It seemed you didn't know him like an open book just yet. But you were glad he was letting you in, chapter by chapter.
He got to work making the food and you sat down on his couch.
It was soft but firm, kind of like him. Your eyes wandered all around the place but, since he had little decor, you didn't see much. A few grains littered a nearby shelf and you looked at them in detail. It was a picture of his father(you assumed) and his teammates (whom you knew because you had met them once or twice).
Rin and Obito....
You weren't the closest but you knew of them. The way Kakashi talked about them made you wish you had known them. It made you wish you had gotten to know them better, gotten to meet the people who made Kakashi who he was today.
You were pulled from your thoughts but the sound of a soft 'clink'.
A heavenly smell drifted to your nose and you looked down to see some ramen and rice balls.
Kakashi sat down next to you and handed you some chopsticks.
The food looked so good!
"Thank you." You said and he nodded.
He seemed to be in better spirits than usual. You couldn't help but wonder if you were the cause.
As you ate, you watched him closely and observed as best you could, but it seemed you couldn't get what you want, even if you tried.
"Trying to catch a glimpse?"
His question startled you. A blush of embarrassment spreading across your face.
He chuckled and you turned away. Maybe changing the topic could save you now.
"Thank again for the meal, it was delicious." You set the bowl down and sighed in satisfaction. You could definitely get used to this. Only, you couldn't. He wasn't your boyfriend, and he certainly wasn't your husband.
He nodded.
"I'm glad you liked it. It was my fathers favorite too." You loved the small spark in his eye he got when talking about those he loved. About fond memories. Now you knew perfectly how to cheer him up.
"Kakashi, if you don't mind, I'd love to hear more stories about your father and friends." You said.
He made an expression in which you couldn't see much of(due to the mask) but you could tell he was smiling some how.
He sat there, next to you, telling you his fondest memories and you leaned against him, taking in his warmth. You couldn't resist the urge to lay on his shoulder, and soon, you were fast asleep.
~*~
You jolted awake suddenly. You felt around a bit, remembering where you were. In Kakashi's apartment on his couch. Several blankets were draped over you and pillows cushioned your back. Obviously, discomfort was not the reason why you had awoken.
It was the faint crying you heard. At first you thought you were going crazy, but as you listened again, the crying continued.
You got up and followed the noise to a door down the hallway, opening it slowly.
You looked to see Kakashi tossing and turning violently in bed. His mask was on(no surprise there) but tears dripped from his eyes, and he seemed distressed.
Not knowing what else to do, you climbed in the bed with him, taking his hand in your own. You whispered to him in a calm and comforting manner that you were there for him, and he slowly stopped tossing. You are quite surprised he hadn't woken up with the way his sense and reflexes were.
You felt his arm wrap around you and pull you in closer.
Your mind told you to get up. To leave. That this wasn't what you'd want Zoko to be doing with another girl. But your heart told you to stay. That just this once it was okay.
Just this once.
