Chapter 8: Kurumi's Stakeout/Ryuko Agrees to take Cream Home

Island of Sodor. Night. Kurumi is Out Late.

Kurumi: I am Brave. I am Brave. Ryuko says I'm brave... So I am Brave. Oh... it's not easy being Brave... Oh, shiver my pistons! There's Purple and Black Heart! They've Found the buffers! Oh, Now what's going to happen?

(Birds fly out of a Tree)

Kurumi: *gasp*

Tumbleweed: Howdy, Partner. Excuse me, Pardon me, Coming through.

Kurumi: Oh, that's just nothing.

Kurumi: That Nothing was something!

Purple: These must be the buffers Iris is looking for!

Black: Are we supposed to go through them?

Purple: Not we, you!

(Owl hoots)

Purple and Black: Ahhh!

Purple: We'll tell her tomorrow!

Kurumi: Oh, I better hurry back and Warn Ryuko...

Sonic: Is this your card?

Cream: *chuckles*

Sonic: (Narrating) I was doing my best to keep Cream cheerful. I knew she was worried about being late for her Grandpa.

Cream: Mr. Sonic, I was supposed to be back by sunset.

Sonic: You know Cream, perhaps your grandpa can guess where you are.

Cream: He can?

Sonic: Maybe. Because I think he's been here himself, long ago. And he can help, I do wish he'd hurry. I haven't told Tails this yet, but soon he'll grow as weak as I am.

Cream: Tails said there used to be an Engine that traveled on the Magic Railroad. And if only we could find it, we could still go back to Shining Time!

Sonic: Oh, that engine disappeared. Never to be seen or heard from again!

Cream: I have to tell you something, Mr. Sonic. I heard a train whistle. It sounded like it was coming from the Mountain.

Sonic: Mountain... I just Remembered another part of the Clue! Stoke up the Magic in the Mountain and the Lady Cosmo will Smile! But we need more information, Cream. And I know that your grandpa could help! If he would just believe that he could!

Cream: Lady Cosmo?!

Chris: She can Whistle! I've heard her!

Shadow: Yeah. So have I. It's because she's magic.

Chris: This must be the map of her Magic Railroad. But, the railroad's energy is fading away. I sensed it when we were out Riding. Cream and I were traveling on the ground above it!

Shadow: The Railroad needs Cosmo... but I don't know her special secret. And I need to know it now more than ever!

Chris: Because of Cream?

Shadow: Yes, because of Cream.

Back on Sodor...

Kurumi: So Ryuko, we must get Cream back to her Grandpa now in case Diesel gets rid of the Railway.

Ryuko: But how can Cream go without gold dust?

Sonic: Only in the Lost engine. Unless...

Ryuko: Unless?

Sonic: Ryuko, will you please take Cream?

Ryuko: Through the buffers? But what if I go on the railway and my wheels don't work?

Sonic: But what if they do?

Ryuko: But what if... If...
