This is the second book of the Blood series, so if you haven't read the first book I would definitely recommend doing that first. And also reading that will help you know what's going on because I'm putting my own special twist on the storyline and reading the first book will help you understand what happened. But if you haven't read the first book and don't want to read it, I won't stop you. I'm sure you'll understand what's happening after the first episode.
