My History teacher, Mr. Nuñez, told me to wait a little bit after the Class so I did as told.
— I know you just missed the first days of school but I still need to make sure that you'll keep up with the rest of the class.
At this I laughed a little. If he only knew...
— Although you seem to be a great student so I might ask you if you'd like someone to be assigned for helping you, or you can do it by yourself...
— I'll do it by my own — I said without a second thought, us, Athena's daughters were kinda proud sometimes... I would never accept help in this kind of things —Don't worry professor, I think I got this.
— Ok, that's great Annabeth
— Is that all Mr. Nuñez? — I asked trying to emphasize the "all" so he could notice that I really needed to go to my next class.
— Actually no, I also need to tell you that last week I assigned everyone a partner to work in the first project of the semester. You're partner's with Jane West, I don't know if you know who she is...

Really? Jane? I mean... I didn't have anything with her but she seemed like the type of girl that wants to know everything of everyone... If what Percy told me about her was true, then she would definitely ask me a lot of questions and will persist until she had an answer...

But I had no choice but to work with her, right?

— Yeah, I know her — I assured him —, but, What's the project about?
— Oh — Mr. Nuñez said —, It's about the Classical Civilizations, we'll start with the basics and then move to a more specific area...
— That seems really cool — I said and he smiled, He might not be used to students liking his assignment—, I'll promise that we'll do our best. Have a great day Professor.

With that I walked out of the class and headed to my locker.

It was already lunch time and I was on my way to meet Percy and his friend. When I entered the cafeteria many people stared at me, and I just had to give them my death glare to make them go back to their conversations.

I didn't remember how it felt like to be in this kind of places, how here what mattered the most was fitting in. They all had expectations about how everyone else needed to look and act. If you were different they looked at you as if you were some kind of alien with three eyes in the head and one in each hand.
Ok maybe I exaggerated a little, but you get the point.
If they knew how many times their world had been about to end for the past few years, they would definitely start to value everything they have, and everyone they have. They would start to see life as the most precious thing that exists.

Percy and I really got the point when we fell to...

— There you are! — exclaimed someone behind me and I turned to face that girl Jane and another one that I didn't know, although Percy had told me about someone called Emma...

— Hey — the other girl gave another step —, I'm Emma, you must be Annabeth, everyone's talking about you.
I gave her a little smile and nodded.

— Then you're Emma — I said and as I expected she nodded too with a brighter smile than mine —, Where do you sit?
— Oh! — Jane said remembering something—, I have just remembered that Percy suggested to eat outside. So they might be heading to the courts...

— Why do they wanna eat outside? — asked Emma while we walked past the cafeteria tables —, It looks like its gonna rain!

I knew why. Percy usually didn't mind being in open spaces with lots of people. He was kinda used to it, but with the past events, he started to get overwhelmed very easily. Like if he was in constant anxiety, I could feel it.

Then we stepped outside the doors and it turned out that Emma was right. The sky was really cloudy.

— Zeus must be mad — I whispered and Jane heard me.
— So you're just as obsessed with Greek Mythology as Percy — she said and I smiled. She had no Idea what she was talking about. Myths? yeah sure...
— Let's say we have kind of a history with Greek and Roman Stuff. Since birth, so...
— How?
— Well...
A big thunder came somewhere near, scaring each one of us.
Why was Zeus that angry!? ...
— We must tell the guys to come in — Jane said and took her phone out. She called Adam but he said that Percy wasn't with him.
I frowned. Where was he?
— You must call him — Jane said and I froze...
Then I heard a call and my heart started to beat faster. Calls where only for emergencies.
I answered.
— Percy, where are you? — I exclaimed.
— I need help with some guys — he said —, I'm in the back of ...
His voice went off and I could only hear the sound of riptide slashing something...
— I'm behind the bleachers in the football field! — He screamed and then his phone fell and the call ended.
I started running towards the field and I heard Jane and Emma screaming and running after me but I didn't care about anything or anyone that wasn't Percy.
