"And you sure it's cool if I wait? Because I can come back if he's busy," I say awkwardly to the floor's secretary. She waves me off.

"Your fine, after this meeting he's basically done for the day," She tells me and I give her a gentle smile which she returns the gesture before closing the wooden doors behind me.

River's office was a lot nicer, and home-like compared to Mason's office. He had framed old magazine art on the walls and even random pictures of the twins scattered around. The best one was on his desk where Monroe stood in the middle, holding the camera most likely and the boys kissing her cheeks. She definitely paid them to that no doubt.

Setting both my purse and the Thai take-out bag on his desk, I walk over to the floor-length windows behind his desk. His office wasn't as big as Mason's, obviously but it still had three floor-length windows, but something he did have over Mason was the view.

"Thanks, man but I can't," I hear as I turn around, River smiles at me as he opens the door, "my lovely girlfriend brought take out," he chuckles.

His co-worker and I awkwardly smile at each other before the two males say goodbye. I chuckle as I settle into his leather chair behind his desk.

"I see it was a casual day at work today," I muse. He chuckles and comes around the desk. I watch as he opens up his desk drawer near my clad covered feet.

"Friday's normally," he nods and leans over kissing my cheek. "I hope you brought a lot, I'm starved," he jokes as he turns to the take out bag and I clear my throat covering up my blush.

"I always do," I muse as he hands me my paper box and fork before leaning back on his desk, crossing his ankles.

I cross my legs, "I hope you weren't here too long," he says and I immediately shake my head.

"I actually just got here, not even giving me time to enjoy the view," I say.

He chuckles, "you've seen it about a hundred times now,"

"And? That doesn't mean I still can't enjoy." I say and he shakes his head at me. I quickly glance over his appearance, dark jeans, and a navy Tommy Hilfiger polo shirt. I tried to avoid staring at his biceps and arms for too long.

"So, are you sure you can leave work early?" I question and he hums in response.

"Yea, don't worry. And plus this is probably the last time we can do this," he replies.

"Why?" I ask swiveling in his chair and looking at him more.

"Because Halloween is slowly coming and the festivities will be closed," he shrugs at me. "Speaking off,"

"Speaking of what? Halloween?" I ask and he nods again.

"My god Bells?" He laughs and I roll my eyes. "Anyways, why? Did you want to do something?"

"Don't I always?" He asks and I shrug.

"Let's do a couples costume," I exclaimed suddenly.

"Kaden is having a Halloween special at his bar,"

"Jazz Halloween music?" I joke and he laughs.

"No, it'll be good music, shut up" he mumbles and I smile. "and for the love of god please tell me it's not some weird couples costume." He sighs at me and I laugh.

"I don't know, I've never done one, well I have, with Celeste of course but," I trail off.

"But not as a couple? really?" he asks me and I nod.

"have you?" I ask.

"Once, with my girlfriend in high school," he shrugs. "but we still have a few weeks it doesn't matter right now, what does matter is that you wore appropriate shoes" he teases, hitting my shoes with his foot.
